Love Warriors, Who we are Accepting pain can be liberating: by owning all parts of yourself—even those parts that are painful—you become free from worry about what others think or feel about your behavior. This is when you feel free to share your vulnerability, just like Glennon did in her memoirs on her blog. People who are hurting don’t need Avoiders, Protectors, or Fixers. What we need are patient, loving witness. People to sit quietly and hold space for us. People to stand in helpful vigil to our pain. Kramer, Jillian (October 2, 2019). Pain transforms one woman into two so that she has someone to walk with, someone to sit with her in the dark when everyone else leaves. Melton and Craig have two more children, daughters Amma and Tish. Melton becomes a stay-at-home mom while Craig works at his law firm. She is exhausted from raising her kids on her own, so she begins to write about the experience online for support. Her posts are well received by readers who find them relatable and inspiring. The blog helps her feel like part of a community again, which gives her a sense of belonging that she has been missing since becoming a mother. Beautiful is not about how you look on the outside. Beautiful is about what you’re made of. Beautiful people spend time discovering what their idea of beauty on this earth is. They know themselves well enough to know what they love, and they love themselves enough to fill up with a little of their particular kind of beauty each day. Lesson 2: Life will keep serving you hard lessons until you finally listen to your inner voice. I listened to Audiobook while doing laundry - cleaning the bathroom - piddling around the house - and doing some lazy indoor exercises - It was a lazy day for me - I was feeling sluggish - but very thankful that I had the opportunity to allow myself this type of lazy luxury day. I could be sad alone if I wanted to. I could listen to a cheesy tape if I wanted too. I didn’t have to leave my house at all! I needed it to simply comfort me and not face the outside world today. Reviews of Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton - BookBrowse

Another big takeway for me was how when Glennon was feeling overwhelmed by pain, depression or anxiety, she'd focus on doing the "next right thing." Sometimes this was as simple as brushing her teeth or making breakfast; other times it meant doing yoga or just sitting still and trying to breathe deeply. This strategy has been a big help to me when I've felt depressed and overwhelmed. Just focus on doing the next right thing, and you'll find your way home. In 2014, Parents named Doyle and Momastery the winner of its award for Best All-Around at Social Media. [23] In 2021, Doyle was included in the Fast Company Queer 50 list. [24] The book is a gorgeous and inspiring account of how we can all take charge of our lives and end the source of our hardship. Through acts of strength and bravery, Doyle managed to turn her misery into an inspiring chronic that motivates anyone who yearns for change and a little miracle in their life. So this book helped on two levels one it helped me understand a bit about what our daughter is going through, its not the same outward signs as Glennon went through (the drinking and other issues) but is more of the inward thinking that I found helpful and could relate to.

It’s hard for me to give a great review on this book. There were times when I could not relate with some of the subjects the author was talking about in this book including bulimia, not enjoying sex to alcoholism.
