It's surprising that there's no app—we've tested far less expensive Jabra headsets that work with Jabra Assist. On the surface, that's fine, but apps often allow for refining the overall performance and behavior of a sophisticated headset, like fine-tuning vocal prompt preferences. There's nothing to tweak here as a result. That said, Jabra does a great job of making everything work pretty seamlessly out of the box. Clarity and Performance Active Noise Cancellation, or ANC as it's often referred to, is an electronic feature that’s built into some headsets that acts as a countermeasure to ambient room noise. Sometimes noise in our work environment can be distracting, and prevent us from staying focused. Everything about the new design is smoother and more elegant, with a shorter retractable microphone boom and a discrete charging base. What is more difficult to gauge is the clarity of speaking for those at the other end of the line, as that’s potentially more important than the experience of the wearer.

Jabra has done a magnificent job to give you a comfortable wearing experience with the Evolve2 75. The design of this headset clearly lends itself to comfort, and the way the headband has been designed really helps to give you a comfortable fit. Add to that, the acoustically designed ear cups, and memory foam ear pads, and it's easy to see that Jabra succeeded in making a headset you can wear for long periods of time comfortably. And for anyone who spends their day on calls, these new design elements on the Evolve2 75 really make a difference. Unexpectedly, these are fine for other purposes. Audiophiles might hear some of the compromises made to achieve their sound profile and the impact of noise-cancelling technology. But they’re not as evident as we’ve experienced on other business headphones, especially regarding the higher frequencies. There is bass, not excessive amounts, but it offers some. Evolve 75 - computers and mobile devices via USB-A Adapter and Bluetooth. Remembers up to 8 devices, with two simultaneous connections USB-C is becoming the new standard, and we're seeing micro USB being phased out. That's another point in favor of the newer, Evolve2 75. So if you like class over a little funk, then these headphones will definitely satisfy you aesthetically. Users who are uncomfortable with smaller ear cups may not like the fit as this one won't cover them fully. Other than this, you must note that these headphones are portable but you’ll still can’t carry them in your hand. Performance Typically, when headphone maker produces a second version of a successful design, they often retain much of the original structure and technology, primarily to reduce costs. A sufficiently simple layout that most people should embrace after receiving a relatively short walkthrough on how to operate them. What especially impressed us was how easily these can be placed on the charger, reducing the possibilities of those awkward moments when you arrive for work and then realise that the headset isn’t charged.

Most would agree that when you move from one version of Bluetooth to a newer that's preceeded by a decimal point, such as from 4.2 to 4.4 for example, the improvements are generally minor. But, if you go from 4 to 5 as an example, that's a more meaningful technological improvement. With that being said, the Evolve2 75 would be the better choice.Jabra estimates battery life to be roughly 18 hours for talk time, 17 hours of music, and 15 days of standby, but your results will vary, especially with ANC added into the mix. A full charge takes approximately two hours. While it is possible to charge these using only a USB cable, we recommend investing in the charger, as it has a dramatically better design than the original Evolve. Instead of the large and awkward frame that the headset hung on, the new charger is small, discreet and the way the headphones land on it is elegant. The Evolve 75 is a comfortable headset which is only partly why this has been such a popular headset. The Evolve2 75 is also a comfortable headset, but if I had to choose one over the other, I'd take the newer, Evolve2 75 simply due to its improved design because from a weight perspective, they both weigh about the same. So it comes down to how the headset is designed, and the materials used which work together to deliver a comfortable wearing experience. And from that point of view, I give the Evolve2 75 my enthusiastic nod. Those using the Jabra Direct software can make adjustments to increase or decrease the output across bass, the mid-range and treble as required.
