A breakout new detective series, from the author of the spine-tingling SCARLET AND IVY series, beautifully illustrated by Hannah Peck. Hopefully this will one day include finding out what happened to my Mum, who died years ago in what I am sure are fishy circumstances. I would have placed Sofia Solokov on this investigation, but another agent is on sick leave, so Sofia’s had to take over their cases and won’t have time to start on this one. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. The Silver Serpent: A third mystery for thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine, and the star of this stylish new detective series.

My best friend; most think we are super-nerds but I don’t mind as he’s crazy smart and my bestie (oops, I already mentioned that). Today I’m writing another book review, this time on one that I finished just yesterday, and also is in my favorites list. My favourite character was probably Agatha Oddly herself but I also quite liked the other characters too. Together, they navigate the streets of London, decipher clues, and uncover a conspiracy involving the British Museum. There’s been a murder at the British Museum and, although the police are investigating, Agatha suspects that they’re missing a wider plot going on below London – a plot involving a disused Tube station, a huge fireworks display, and five thousand tonnes of gold bullion.

With a scholarship to the prestigious St Regis School, a cottage in the middle of Hyde Park, a room full of beloved sleuthing novels and a secret key that gives her access to a whole hidden side of London, Agatha is perfectly poised to solve the mystery of what’s going on. This is the twelfth –” the headmaster glances up from his notes – “no, let me correct that – the thirteenth time you’ve been in trouble this term, Agatha. Agatha is an intelligent girl who gained a scholarship to the prestigious St Regis school, otherwise filled with the sons and daughters of the rich of London Agatha doesn’t really fit in, and has a number of nicknames, including the titular Agatha Oddly, but she doesn’t let that stop her!

He’s a great Dad but doesn't always agree with me that my investigations are far more important than stupid school. Agatha Oddlow’s set to become the youngest member of the Gatekeepers’ Guild, but before that, she’s got a mystery to solve! With her Oddlow Agency detective company and her best friend Liam Lau at her side, she’s perfectly poised to solve the mystery of what’s going on. The mysteries, the hidden code and everything in this book is exactly what I would expect from a charming mystery book and ‘The Secret Key’ is no disappointment! It’s been five weeks since I solved the case of the red slime that had polluted London’s water supply – and I’m itching to get going again. Murder at the Museum: A second mystery for thirteen-year-old Agatha Oddly - a bold, determined heroine, and the star of this stylish new detective series. It was hard for my daughter to get into the story with the first book; but once she got used to the style of writing and once things began to develop, she read all three books in one go.

Agatha Oddly and the Secret Key is my first foray into Middle Grade this year and what a fantastic start it is! I hate this passage to the network of tunnels that run under much of London, but it’s my nearest entrance. because of my interest in solving mysteries in a style similar to that of my hero Monsieur Poirot … that is, no techy gadgets (smart phone, moi? Agatha Oddlow's set to become the youngest member of the Gatekeepers' Guild, but before that, she's got a mystery to solve! When I do, the reality of where I am crowds in on me – deep underground, and no one knows I’m here – and I have to slow my breathing and focus on my destination.
