Description

I Had That Same Dream Again comes to the West thanks to Seven Seas and has been translated by Diana Taylor (who also translated At Night, I Become a Monster). The translation reads well with no issues to note. Like Seven Seas’ releases of Yoru Sumino’s other books, this release is one of their bigger novel formats and it fits nicely alongside them. This was a lovely story about a little girl seeking the answer for what happiness is with help from her friends. Nanoka is working on a project for her elementary class, and she's quite an interesting and thoughtful little girl. Thoughtful in the sense that she thinks her thoughts rather deeply for a youngster. I see some of my younger self in her, especially with having difficulty making friends, but like her, I had some unconventional friends. Nanoka doesn't really have friends among her classmates, but she is not exactly a loner - she speaks to others on a friendly basis, shares book recommendations with one, and is sorta chatty with her seat neighbor, Kiryuu. Her actual friends are a cat, a high school girl she meets on a deserted building's rooftop, Minami, a young woman whose house she frequents, who she calls 'Skank-san' after she mistakes the slur on her door for her name, and an old woman whose house she visits. Being the only kid of working parents, she has the freedom to walk around the neighborhood, and she daily goes out with the cat. This does take a certain level of maturity to understand the full depths of the story as it covers a vast range of topics and themes that some may find hard to read. That in itself isn’t really why you need that level of maturity it’s more the way that these topics and themes are presented to you. The story is told from the perspective of a very outgoing grade school girl, who doesn’t fully understand the things that are happening to those around her, meaning that the topics and themes lie under a feint level of mist. This is not a bad thing at all, it’s one of the most redeeming factors about the novel.

Self-Harm: When Nanoka first meets Minami, she's cutting her left forearm with a box cutter, and has numerous scars from earlier wounds. Nanoka tries to figure out why someone would do this, with a variety of reasons given by others. Unfortunately, I can't really say the same for the side characters. The only ones I really liked were her classmate Kiryuu (For some reason the translators render his last name as Kiriyuu, but I have to wonder if that's right. I know Kiryuu exists but not Kiriyuu) and the unnamed elderly woman who gives Nanoka sweet treats every now and again. The rest of them were just bland and kind of milquetoast, with very little in the way of their own character arcs or development whatsoever. Plus, some of them felt like they were just there to be props for Nanoka's development, especially since many of them outright disappear from the story with no concrete explanation whatsoever. We never even know what Skank's deal is, or why she even goes by that moniker, nor anything about Minami, the high schooler Nanoka runs into or why she cuts herself. There are so many unanswered questions, and the book kinda winds up feeling empty because of that. you know sometimes you read one of those books that are so good because they are so personal to you. I feel like this book resonates deep inside of me, I could have very well written something like this in an alternate universe (but alas! I am not that talented in this one). It is also very well drawn as a plus point.Mateo, Alex (June 9, 2021). "Spy x Family, Remina, I Had That Same Dream Again, More Nominated for Eisner Awards". Anime News Network . Retrieved June 17, 2021. then learning about them is a must. One of the biggest reasons why you should read Manga online is the money it As Nanoka mulls over the answer to such a difficult question, she seeks advice from two of her closest friends: Obaa-chan, an elderly woman living in the woods; and Abazure-san, a young woman living alone in a nearby apartment. Along the way, Nanoka befriends high school student Minami at an abandoned building, whom she initially met while Minami was hurting herself. Each of them has a different outlook on life, making Nanoka's mission to figure out what it means to be happy even more challenging. I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from this novel but the faint air of mystery and the brilliant, relatable characters are what kept me reading. I found myself wanting to read more whenever I had some free time. It’s never overwhelming but this is the kind of novel that will get you thinking about life, similar to that of Sumino’s other works. You’ll also be happy to know that in terms of endings a happy one awaits you, that’s not to say there are no emotional parts

Omg ahh I could scream!! This was soo good! I haven’t read a manga in a while and this was just utterly perfect. I bought it after I had read one of Yoru Sumino’s other mangas, which is “I want to eat your pancreas” this as well is so good. I just love her art style and omg the story of “I had that same dream again” is SOO lovely. I fell in love with the characters and could relate to them so much. I could feel their pain and happiness in my bones!! If I could, I would’ve read it in one sitting. (Minami to Nanoka, 112)" can save you. While there's nothing like actually holding a book in your hands, there's also no denying that the There are many reasons you should read Manga online, and if you are a fan of this unique storytelling style

(Nenek to Nanoka, hal 84)" Enjoyment: I wanted to read more and more about this little girl's life. I wanted to know what all the characters had to do with each other. I definitely enjoyed it. One of my complaints about At Night, I Become a Monster was the fact it wasn’t going to reveal a lot of information about why things were unfolding the way they were, but that’s thankfully not the case here. Author Yoru Sumino sets the story up well and slowly drops hints to bring the reader to the correct conclusion. It’s incredibly well written and difficult to put down!

Oh my. Thank Penerbit Haru for translating and publishing this beautiful book! Kebetulan sebelum baca ini aku baru menamatkan I Want to Eat Your Pancreas yang "legendaris" itu. Punny Name: The huge painting in Obaachan's house is signed "Live Me". It's revealed in the last chapter that the painting was done by Kiryu, who signed the painting that way to pun on his name sounding like "kill you" in English. I really like this author's writing style. While I was not too into "I Want To Eat Your Pancreas." I always liked their writing style in it, and when I read "At Night, I Become a Monster." I fell in love with their work.
