The eyes are the strongest focal point and emotional indicators when observing a face, trying to understand or define the person behind that face. There is a desire to slowly focus on something inside ,thoughts, feelings and even further. That's when Hans got up looked out the window and said:

Great Pubs of England. Prestel Publishing (Hardcover)

Anastasia added that not only is this great recognition for the pub but also for Salisbury as well. Published by Prestel and written by Horst A. Great Pubs of England: See Inside the New Book

KEN FOLLETT- Editorial photography for BUNTE-Magazin : After many years of shooting images and a film of Ken Follett author of thrillers and historical novels, who has sold more than 160 million copies of his works. Before Ken's new novel, The Armour of Light, was published I was allowed to take pictures in his beautiful home what really does mean a lot to me. We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues. The ability to comment on our stories is a privilege, not a right, however, and that privilege may be withdrawn if it is abused or misused. London is perhaps the perfect pub city. There’s a boozer for almost every kind of person– even the non-drinkers among us – and they’re a vital part of the capital’slifeblood. They provide community, entertainment and culture, and not only help us navigate our way around town but give us a place to stop, sit and enjoy the city. Stuart Husband is a Hastings-based travel journalist whose work has appeared in Monocle, Four Seasons, the Telegraph, Observer, Sunday Times, and the Independent. He is the author of Bookstores, with Horst A. Friedrichs.

I love a good English pub. Not just for a drink but for the inspiration and experience. If a pub has all the right elements and designed well, it can feel like home from home– comfortable, welcoming, warm and cosy. Although my home interiors don’t look like a pub, I often take inspiration from them. If I walk into a pub and I get that warm, fuzzy feeling, I look for inspiration of how to create the same feeling at home. It can be attributed to design, paint colour, lighting, accessories or all the above. Sometimes it simply down the buzz and vibe of the people in it. I wish I’d become a pub interior designer. It’s something I feel quite passionate about. Who knows, one day…. London, a good place to start

This arrived yesterday and after raising a dram to celebrating the book, I'm delighted to share a wee look at our Scotch book with you!! Great Pubs of England by Horst A. Friedrichs and Stuart Husband explores the best of England's illustrious pub culture in all its idiosyncratic glory and infinite variety. Whittling it down to 33 of the country’s finest and most distinctive inns, this book takes an in-depth look at pubs in every corner of the country, featuring striking photography by acclaimed photographer Horst and text by seasoned journalist Stuart. These adverts enable local businesses to get in front of their target audience – the local community. Three centuries on, the English pub remains the ultimate happy place for those seeking refuge, recreation, or refreshment. But pubs today constitute a broad church, with old-school saloons and ultimate locals joined by modern reimaginings of traditional hostelries and Michelin-starred gastro-temples. They said of their new collaboration: "W e explore the infinite variety of England's pubs and celebrate their idiosyncratic glory in words and pictures. The English pub is an abiding obsession."

On such occasions, says Conlon, his octogenarian mother Peggy, who still lives above the premises, has the perfect response: “She gets her holy water out and starts spraying the place, saying her Hail Marys.”
