The artefacts continue to be stand out, with Sword of the Red Seneschals adding +1 to wound for units within 12″ of the bearer if they slew a model this turn, Bloodsaint’s Shield giving -1 to Casting within 6″ and Fragment of the Keep giving the enemy -1 to wound within 6″. All around really good artefacts here, Kastelai is a strong contender for second place. Especially since many will want to run those gorgeous new Blood Knights that came out. Avengorii Dynasty It won’t contend with hyper efficient WAAC lists but in a ‘friends-on’ environment they are a lot of fun. Prime your new miniature ready for battles of Warhammer Age of Sigmar using the incredible Citadel Colour System. Get creative and choose from a wide variety of water-based colours which have been designed and improved over time specifically for Warhammer painting. Once painted, Radukar the Beast is ready to command the Soulblight Gravelords as a Vampire Lord and take over the Mortal Realms! Radukar The Beast Components The subfactions work less like the current subfactions of the past few years and more in line with Legions of Nagash. Each Bloodline has two unique traits, and their own set of command traits and artefacts, 6 a piece. Honestly, one of my favorite parts of the book and I hope its a sign for how Battletomes will be constructed in 3rd edition. The “mandatory command trait/relic” seemed like something designed in a vacuum, where it was your cost for gaining the benefits of a subfaction instead of just running your own thing. In reality there was usually at least one subfaction that was too good to ignore, and it meant a whole lot of otherwise good artefacts and command traits went completely ignored. This may or may not become a rule; Cities of Sigmar had a similar design philosophy, but I think it would be an improvement on the game to accept people will take subfactions anyway and to give choice within those. With the GHB 2021 Radukar the Wolf is an extra hero, so you can replace him with the Beast. Then you take 20 skeletons instead of 30 and 2x 20 Zombies instead of Wolves and just summon the wolves to the table with the CA. rest as you had put it.

A hideous amalgamation of bat, drake, and humanoid body, Vai is nevertheless possessed with a sliver of self-control and even conscience. She remembers the pride she felt as a fierce warrior queen, and she hasn’t allowed herself to succumb completely to her instincts. We are a small team of Warhammer Enthusiasts and miniature collectors, hoping to support and further promote the hobby. In the centuries later, vast lineages formed, splitting into various dynasties and empires of distinct cultures. Some cherished the deathly powers of Nagash, revering him as a god to be worshipped, while others rejected him, only resentfully supporting his deathly crusade as they were forever cursed to do. All, however, conspired against one another, currying favour with those who would help them, before betraying any ally that stood as an obstacle to undead hegemony.

Some vampires were bestial and crazed, bound to leap upon any mortal that passed them by. Others attempted a modicum of civility, building great cities to generate production lines of fresh meat. Others still lurked in the shadows, keeping their courts hidden from the forces of Chaos and human encroachment.

I’m still hell bent on making something that looks like fun to play against. I just don’t want to be that guy who puts a big effort into the Cursed City themed board who nobody wants to play because his army is fundamentally too weak... Here is one I tried recently: Blood Knights are the next fan favourite. Elite cavalry adept at swift movement and charging enemy flanks, they’ll sit nicely in any Soulblight army, and will be relied upon to deliver the hard-hitting punches. The Kastelai Dynasty makes particularly effective use of them, fielding the knights as battleline units and boosting their damage against Hero and Monster targets. Vampires and werewolves join forces in Belladamma Volga. The dreaded matriarch of the Vrykos Soulblight bloodline, old Mrs Volga is the only leader of a vampiric dynasty to not owe her cursed powers to Nagash. Instead, an ancient ‘godbeast’ is responsible for her bloodline’s distinctly lupine curse, which manifests in not only a wolfish appearance but an intimate connection to rabid animals.

While these abilities are available for all Soulblight armies, the choice of your army’s ‘Cursed Bloodline’ will open even more experimental possibilities. All have some gameplay quirk that ties to their thematic origins, and will influence your army’s playstyle. Legion of the Night, for instance, grants +1 to your save rolls for all Deadwalker and Deathrattle units in the first turn, and lets you keep half your units to deploy as reserves. It’s a great option if you like malleable tactical plays, and want to start the battle one foot forward. Lauka Vai is the undisputed commander of a murderous clan of beasts and monsters. Though she retains an aspect of noble knighthood, her dark thirst drives her to commit unspeakable acts of slaughter. Some bloodlines are altogether different, like the animalistic Vyrkos dynasty. Talking of which… Radukar the Beast If you’re interested in a broader overview of the fantastical factions that call the Mortal Realms home, have a read of our Age of Sigmar armies guide. But if the sight of immortal fiends doesn’t shake your bones, then read on.Nagash does return however he took another points hike pushing him up to 975 pts. His warscroll is identical to the Ossiarch Bonereapers one, although a special rule allows him to gain the Soulblight Gravelords keyword, and he does know all 13 spells in the disciple. Is this worth a 95 point price hike? Probably not. He was already suffering as it stood and I’m not sure if all those spells are worth it. It may depend if everything goes up in price in 3rd edition Age of Sigmar, similar to how the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 worked. First showing up in Games Workshop’s ill-fated Cursed City boxed dungeon-crawler, Radukar is a vampire lord with a celebrated history. Earning the vampiric touch as a reward for proving his beast-slaying talents, he later invaded Ulfenkarn to liberate the city from Khorne’s grasp.
