If you like heel-to-toe drops that are above .75-inches in height, then I think you’ll enjoy the elevation of the Legacy Lifter 3’s 22mm/.86-inch heel. The Legacy Lifter 3’s heel cup is also great for anchoring the foot and providing additional stability for squats. Ideally, you’ll want a shoe with a strong and well-built outsole to promote traction and long-term durability. Avoid weightlifting shoes that utilize any material than rubber, in my opinion. 2. Well-Built Midsole/Heel If you have either of these shoes and you’ve experienced durability issues with either of them, please reach out and let me know what you’ve run into so I can make those issues known in this comparison. Reebok Legacy Lifter 3 Vs Reebok Lifter PR 3 Price On that note, if you’ve ever worn Reebok weightlifting shoes, and more specifically, the Legacy Lifter or Legacy Lifter II, then you should be safe opting for the same size in the III. I also like the outsole traction that you get with the Reebok Lifter PR 3 and that it grips different surfaces really well. The rubber outsole tread also shouldn’t fade too fast for squat-specific performance, so I think these will last you a while if you’re just using them for squats.

Good for: Exercisers who want a solid, stable shoe they can use for weightlifting, powerlifting, and some CrossFit workouts for a reasonable price. It can feel like a big change going from flat cross-training shoes or running shoes to Olympic lifting shoes with a 0.75-inch (19mm) heel made of hard plastic. The Adidas Powerlift shoes are a middle ground to get started on. After about two weeks of breaking this model, I stopped noticing it during my training sessions, or maybe I got used to it. However, it still looks off and you can even see that the toe boxes look slightly different due to this. Using a tempo can also be great to help you “feel” the difference when wearing these shoes compared to your normal workout shoes. Will Weightlifting Shoes Help My Squat? The final thing to like about the Reebok Lifter PR II is the fact that their performance is consistent across the board and they have a good amount of stability. This model utilizes a high-density EVA foam to deliver its stability. For example, someone who struggles with ankle dorsiflexion, and thus struggles to squat to full depth and receive the barbell in the correct position during a clean or snatch, would benefit from weightlifting shoes with a higher heel.

As you get more specific, though, that’s where you’ll start to run into some differences to consider between these shoes. Unlike the Legacy Lifter 2, the Legacy Lifter 3 has a little more toe spring due to its heavier upper construction, which does break in over time, but it’s something that bothers me with this shoe. The Legacy Lifter 3’s upper is built with a blend of leather, textile, and mesh materials. This shoe’s upper feels a lot heavier and layered compared to the Lifter PR 3’s upper. If you like heavier-built weightlifting shoes, you’ll like this shoe’s upper. If you often find that you’re sliding around in weightlifting shoes or as though you can’t get them tight enough, I don’t think you’ll have these issues with the Nike Romaleos 4.
