Description

When a CHARACTER fails a Saving Throw, another model within 3” can take the hit instead if you roll a 4+ (3+ for PATRIARCHS ), dying in their stead. Whilst this will outright kill the saviour regardless of damage (so yes, you can lose a 3W ABERRANT against a Lasgun), it can be well worth it to keep a vital Character alive. Return to the Shadows- An INFANTRY unit can, instead of Moving or Consolidating, can be placed into Reinforcements, provided they are more than 3” away from enemy models. Great for moving around the board in following turns for late game Objective or Secondary grabs, or to avoid reprisal after wiping a unit in melee. All round great utility for only a CP, though do note they must arrive over 9” away when returning, not the usual 8” when coming from Underground, so account for that when they return. Covering Fire- An enemy unit with a Crossfire marker in your Charge Phase can’t fire Overwatch, Set to Defend or Heroically Intervene. A powerful tool for a CP to protect a unit on the way in, or to shut down a unit looking to utilise rules or Stratagems to catch you flatfooted via an Intervention.

The secretive agency known as the Officio Assassinorum employs various means to exert the Emperor's Will. Not much is known about these assassins, but the same could not be said for the tabletop. Explore this list to see which of these assassins excel the most in the tabletop. We got so excited about Combat Patrol that we couldn’t help but come up with a few army lists, all coming in at around a Power Level of 25. We’re starting with a couple that you can make with the models in the new Indomitus boxed set . Indomitus Necrons The next three armies are all built around Start Collecting! boxes, which are all a great way to start any new force. Many of them contain enough models for you to build a Combat Patrol force right away. Genestealer Cults The Gift From Beyond- A super Cult Sniper Rifle, with +12” Range, -1AP and +1Dmg. That’s it though, and whilst there will be times you one shot a lighter support Character, in general it’s still going to take 2 if not 3 turns to get rid of most enemy Characters. Not bad, not great. If you’re only interested in receiving the newest games this is the box for you; guaranteeing only the latest games! Buy New Releases Box » If it’s Exposed as well, you get +1 to Wound on top of that, making even the humble Auto weapons you have capable of wounding most things on 4s, and enhancing your heavier weapons into the lofty heights of wounding most things on 3s if not 2s. Infiltrate’ or something on those lines means the unit can be deployed anywhere on the table over 9” away from enemy models and the enemy deployment zone, instead of deploying normally. Deep Supplies- Reroll a Wound roll each time they Shoot or Fight, much like Bladed Cog. Reliable and will add up over the course of the game, be sure to prioritize heavier weapons so as not to inadvertently waste the reroll. The only problem? Everyone else wants in on the action, and now the whole galaxy is boarding the Arks of Omen in search of glory, treasure, or just a big punch-up. In fact, four more Boarding Patrol boxes are preparing for launch in the near future – and only one of them might be said to have the Emperor’s best interests at heart…

There is a decent number of minis inside, however, without the book out yet, it’s hard to say how good all the units inside will be. Still, it does feel like a descent combat patrol box set for the Tau since you get a lot of models. Again, we expect this to drop with their codex release (fingers crossed). Adeptus Custodes & Genestealer Cults Combat Patrol Box Sets The Forty-First Millennium is flooded with talent and units that get the job done. There are a few that stand out, whether you want to play the game or just have a fascination with the lore. Objective Secured– All your Troops are get this, pretty standard. Whilst they aren’t the toughest Infantry around, they’re cheap enough for you to have lots of them, and your deployment abilities gives you a surprising amount of flexibility to nab Objectives.

Genestealer Patriarch

Watching scary movies alone is one thing. Watching exorcism movies alone...now that, you may not want to do! Thralls of the Patriarch- Ignore Combat Attrition modifiers, like the second part of the Pauper Princes. Whilst ignoring modifiers can be useful, it isn’t really worth 2 of your 4 points here. Toxin Agents (2)- 6s to Hit with Melee against non- VEHICLE/MONSTER units autowound. A potent buff for a combat heavy force, and even for non-melee units to help out in a pinch.

The core of the new box (as with all T’au Empire armies) is a Fire Warriors Strike Team – ten troops to lay down withering storms of pulse fire while they claim objectives. Leading them into battle is a Cadre Fireblade, an expert commander with years of battlefield experience. For those occasions where you need a little sneakiness, the Combat Patrol box features three Stealth Battlesuits, and for when you just need raw firepower, there’s a Ghostkeel Battlesuit. Finally, you also get an Ethereal to provide some spiritual guidance to the army and scoot around dramatically on their hover drone.

How to start collecting Genestealer Cults

There’s no specific way to distinguish the difference between Interceptor squads from Purifier squads or Paladins from Terminator squads other than their loadout. You can mix and match your Grey Knights list effortlessly with good magnet work as well. Among many options in a box like this, a person starting to build the Imperium’s designated Daemon slayers should have no second thoughts about getting this Combat Patrol box. The Outriders give you speed, and the Bladeguard Veterans give you a real punch in combat. Support their assault by charging your Assault Intercessors at the same time, and give everything buffs from the aura abilities of your Primaris Lieutenant and Bladeguard Ancient. It’s only in the final moments, when those so-called Star Children arrive around an infested world, that the Broodmind link is dropped. In that moment, the hapless cultists see their Star Children for what they truly are: an invading Tyranid force who only see humanity as genetic material to be consumed and digested – cultist or no. The first generation offspring of the Genestealer is always a terrifying sight: engorged craniums, too many limbs, and mauve skin make them unrecognisable as even half-human progeny. The second generation maintains an extra arm, but the march towards passing as human has begun. The third generation is more humanoid than those before, though still alien in appearance.

Wayland Games

Oppressors’ Bane- Upgrades an Autopistol with +3” Range, +2 Shots, +1 Str, -2 AP and +1Dmg. On top of that, the bearer gains CROSSFIRE , the Crossfire rule, and units they shoot at always counts as having a Crossfire marker and being Exposed. Phew. Lots of things there, but where it’s most useful is to set up Crossfire for other units, and consider any damage as a nice bonus. When it comes to the actual units, there are several standouts. The Genestealer Patriarch is an obvious inclusion for many, given that it really is the father of your cult. The Patriarch is swift, deadly, and even comes with two psychic powers. For a true, thoroughbred psyker you may want to look at the Genestealer Magus, a pure psyker character that also comes with an aura letting nearby units ignore mortal wounds inflicted by psychic abilities on a 5+ roll.Getting another Combat Patrol box is a must to fill awkward model counts (Arco-Flagellants and Repentia) Superhero games have been around for decades now. But it wasn’t until the 2000s did they start to grow into popularity. Dreadnoughts are walking vehicles of war and destruction. Just as they are in the lore, they could also get quite fearsome on the tabletop. Explore this list to see which of the Imperium's combat walkers best suit your playstyle. Genetic Lineage- Let’s an ACOLYTE or METAMORPH unit charge even if they Advanced this turn. Great at 1CP for the extra burst of speed granted, and the neat thing with this is it’s used in the Charge phase, meaning you can either go in knowing you’ll need it, or can simply use it for redundancy if the Psychic Stimulus power fails to cast. Genestealers make their way through the galaxy to infiltrate Imperium planets, taking control of the minds and bodies of the populous to create mindless cults... just like the Kardashians.
