Most interesting of all are the Cinderella glass slipper tile and a 2×3 tile of 71040 Disney Castle which is just a brilliant nod to the original castle. To pay homage to the classic animated film Aladdin, LEGO have decided to go small with 40613 Mini Palace of Agrabah, a pint-sized but utterly delightful scaled down version of Agrabah. Here’s the completed mini LEGO Haunted Mansion, which features a pretty accurate rendition of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion.

I’d say the designers really did a great job adapting the Agrabah we know from Aladdin to a tidy LEGO display model. August marks the release of 40521 Mini Disney The Haunted Mansion, a follow-up to 2021’s excellent 40478 Mini Disney Castle. As you can see, the Haunted Mansion pales in comparison to the Mini Disney Castle, which has plenty of display presence from its height, and more vibrant and magical colour scheme. Disney Parks have a large number of iconic attractions and one of the oldest and most beloved is The Haunted Mansion. Located in the New Orleans Square area of Disneyland, Anaheim, from its exterior, The Haunted Mansion doesn’t scream spookiness. It was originally designed as the quintessential haunted house, falling apart and left to ruin, a perfect place for ghosts to dwell. But Walt Disney didn’t want a rundown building sitting in his new theme park. So the building which contains the ride looks as perfect as the day it was built. Once inside things are very different, visitors take to Doom Buggy as they journey through the Mansion and meet some of its inhabitants. The ride has also inspired a movie, a Muppets Disney+ special and versions in other Disney Parks. It’s the original Disneyland version of The Haunted Mansion which has inspired this new set. Keepability [3] – With LEGO and Disney doing more of these mini sets, it’d be one to slowly collect and display together for best resultsMeasuring over 8 in. (21 cm) high, 5.5 in. (14 cm) wide and 5.5 in. (13 cm) deep, this LEGO® | Disney Mini Disney Castle makes a striking display piece standing on a mantelpiece or shelf in your home or office. One thing I was surprised about when I opened the set was how many bags it contains. There are nine in total, which feels a lot for how big the finished build is. But due to the microscale nature of the building, it does use a lot of small elements. You build the set from the base upwards, with the plate the Mansion sits on being the same style as the Mini Disney Castle. This is a really nice touch as it makes both sets feel like they are part of a series of sets. And yes, if you’re wondering, here’s the Mini Palace of Agrabah alongside the Mini Disney Castle and Mini Haunted Mansion. This is the third year running where we’ve gotten a Mini Disney structure, and this is the first one that’s not based on a Disney Parks attraction, and gives me hope that we could potentially see more fictional settings in this series.

The techniques used for the gabled roof in this section is quite nice as well, with the layered cheese slopes working wonders. Light up the world's most iconic castle, the Disney Castle aka Cinderella's Castle - in miniature form! Enter 40478 Mini Disney Castle, which was revealed to much fanfare and excitement! This miniature version of the larger and more expensive 71040 Disney Castle is a great alternative for LEGO fans on a budget, and for any type of Disney fan. They do look great next to each other, and you can almost begin imagining more Mini Disneyland attractions coming to join the duo – I would really like a Space Mountain or Splash Mountain next. The build was surprisingly long, and kept me engaged throughout, and I had fun seeing the Castle come together. The Butler has a very nice face print, with deep sunken eyes, and an almost bored to death expression. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have an alternate face which is a bit of a bummer. There are some fiddly bits as you’re building mostly with small elements, but I did enjoy the techniques that made this unique shape possible. While the Mini Palace of Agrabah is housed within the Disney Princess theme, which is a little odd to begin with, LEGO really missed an opportunity to include a Sultan minifigure, or even Aladdin dressed as Prince Ali.

With Walt Disney World’s (and Tokyo Disneyland’s) Cinderella’s Castle, then Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, I believed the door was open to fans, having access to future Park Icons / Attractions…so this Set is jarring, especially, without an exclusive Minifigure. Odd! The Disney Castle tile was previously only available in the pricey Disney Train and Station set, so it’s great to see it being available in a much more accessible set! Here’s a look at the Agrabah Palace from the front, where there are more interesting details such as this fountain. With The Haunted Mansion being recreated as a micro-scale building, it has some interesting details, which are achieved in quite simple ways. Single 1×1 elements can be a little fiddly to place especially when there are many to add, but they do create a great-looking set. It is a little compact, which does mean some of the detail is masked, especially the inner part of the building, which is a little lost behind the sand green window plates. But overall the set manages to capture the overall appearance of the iconic facade of The Haunted Mansions ride.

Here’s a look at the completed Castle, and it is a beauty – perfectly capturing the iconic silhouette of Cinderella’s Castle. The build was fairly enjoyable for me – I really like building at micro scale, and at 567 pieces, was a medium-length and rather satisfying experience.
