Unlike the base model which uses Kinesis’ propreitary SmartSet Engine, the Pro uses open souce ZMK firmware. Program the keyboard using the web-based configurator or simple text syntax. Power users can access the code on GitHub to build and share their own features. Customization options for the Kinesis Advantage 360 keyboard are so extensive, it's like having a personal assistant at your fingertips. The keyboard features onboard programming that lets you remap keys, create macros, and customize up to nine layers of functionality.

How can you improve a design that has been out for almost 20 years? (The Advantage was released in 2002, which is also the current design of the Advantage2). People who used the Advantage2 loved their keyboards, most of which were nerds and geeks. They want more customizability, a sleeker and cleaner design that adapts to the latest trend. But they want all these without compromising on the well-established Design of the original Advantage2. Given the price point, I’m a little disappointed in the physical feel of the board. Despite the comfort and low centre of gravity, it just doesn’t feel premium. I’ve had plenty of assurance from MoErgo that the materials are far from cheap, and that it has stood up to plenty of materials testing and I certainly believe them. But the truth is, I just don’t think it feels as good as it might. Certainly the red switch version I found very ‘pingy’, although the white switch version did feel considerably better. Personally I like my boards to feel more solid, even if that means adding a little weight and size to accommodate some means of providing better acoustics. With such a slim chassis I’m not sure you could even get a layer of 1mm neoprene in there to soak things up. The Moonlander and Dygma Raise are both thin but they both feel very sturdy. The Glove80, by comparison, doesn’t. A: The KINESIS Advantage 360 is a unique keyboard that offers features not available on other keyboards. It includes tenting, adjustable key switches, and thumb clusters, which allow you to customize the keyboard to your specific needs. The keyboard also features an open-source ZMK firmware that allows you to modify the keyboard's functionality and program it using the QMK firmware. Additionally, the keyboard is fully split, which allows you to position the two halves of the keyboard in the most comfortable and ergonomic way for you. Q: Can I customize the KINESIS Advantage 360? The integrated palm supports reduce stressful bending of the wrists and provide a convenient place to rest your hands when you are not actively typing. Add the new premium pads for even more support ( AC360PP Sold Separately). Learn MoreCustom Keycaps, the Advantage2, came with shiny ABS keycaps. The Moonlander had better keycaps (PBT). if you are plugged in by bluetooth; your bluetooth win menu will display your batter life. you can connect both sides at the same time to recharge them while you work. And, for now at least, while this board might not be perfect, if I was talking just hardware, this would probably take the crown as the best physical form for me. Instead of having all the keys in one straight line, they are separated into two groups that are angled towards each other. This allows you to keep your arms and hands in a more natural position, reducing fatigue over time. As the market leader in computer ergonomics, Kinesis has been designing and building premium-grade ergonomic keyboards for more than 25 years. The all-new Advantage 360 features our patented Contoured keyboard design now in a fully split form factor for even more ergonomic adjustability.

Learning Curve: While the benefits of using an ergonomic keyboard like the Kinesis Advantage 360 are clear, there's a bit of a learning curve when first using it. The unique layout may take some time to get used to, but once you do, you'll likely find that typing on a traditional keyboard feels awkward by comparison. The integrated palm supports reduce stressful bending of the wrists and provide a convenient place to rest your hands when you are not actively typing. Add the new premium pads for even more support ( AC360PP Sold Separately) . Learn MoreOverall, the Kinesis Advantage 360's design and features are tailored towards providing a comfortable typing experience. From its ergonomic split design to its unique key shape and programmable macros - this keyboard is built for those who want efficiency without sacrificing comfort. Ergonomics and Comfort By default reporting the battery level over BLE is disabled as this can cause some computers to spontaneously wake up repeatedly. If you'd like to enable this functionality change CONFIG_BT_BAS=n to CONFIG_BT_BAS=y in adv360_left_defconfig. Please note that a known bug in windows prevents the battery level from updating by default, it is only updated when the board is paired. A workaround is to set CONFIG_BT_GATT_ENFORCE_SUBSCRIPTION=n in adv360_left_defconfig. This may cause unexpected results on other OSes Changelog
