If an item weighs more than 9 pounds, we won’t be able to ship to these addresses because of our current courier agreements. They feature a detachable, braided audio cable, meaning you can swap them out based on your preferences. Unfortunately, because it retains the same large shell as the Zero, the nozzle diameter is over 6 mm. AS16 Pro have a big housing compared to Zero:Red, but a similar shape, so they’re equally comfy to users with regular ear sizes. There’s nice microdetail, with little nuances that characterize each note, thanks to the texturing and grit of the RED.

You want this IEM so you know what correct tonality is, when you listen with other transducers such as headphones and speakers. You can make them sound more natural and exciting with some EQ, but they lack the bass extension from Zero:Red. Also, the housing is smaller than KZ AS16 Pro, so unless you have tiny ears, it shouldn’t press against your earlobe. This is most apparent in the midbass body of electric guitars - the textured tone of the amps are beautifully rendered…but only if it’s emphasized enough in the mix to be heard. They also have a better build quality, better noise isolation, and a high-quality case, so they're more suitable as an on-the-go option. From a childhood fascination with sound, Peter’s passion has evolved into a relentless pursuit of the finest headphones.

The treble issues also become more apparent on brighter sections of tracks that don't have a bassline to balance out the 5kHz emphasis; of course, this perception is exacerbated by the lack of air over 10kHz. In any event, I think this is a solid first entry by Truthear and I'd like to see what they cook up to tackle the upper echelons of the market. These are made for Truthear by Heygears, a 3D printing design and manufacturing company that has worked with more established brands including FiiO and MOONDROP when it comes to resin shell IEMs. There's also a slight roll-off in the high-bass, likely due to the crossover from the sub-bass driver to the mid-high driver.

The response is overemphasized across the entire bass range but features a particularly prominent peak in the mid-bass that adds boom and slam to bass-range instruments. There’s little space for treble notes to breathe, for the hats and cymbals to shimmer and shine past the crisp initial attack. His introduction to portable audio was through a Walkman cassette-player in his pre-teens, and music has been his getaway ever since. However, they lack an IP rating for protection against water and dust, while their wired design means it's easy to get the cable snagged on something while in motion. Their strong bass response adds realism to sounds like explosions, and their detailed mids and highs make dialogue and environmental audio sound natural. These buds also have a dual dynamic driver design, with one 10mm driver that reproduces bass frequencies and another 7.
