If you like Sherlock Holmes, there is very little of Sherlock Holmes in this series, from what I can see. The Baker Street Four are a group of children who assist Sherlock Holmes, but when 'Sherlock is away the children play' and they solve their own mysteries.

The apprentices are forced to take local crimes into their own hands while Holmes is off solving mysteries abroad, but how will it all end?In 2009, he co-authored The Baker Street Four with Jean-Blaise Djian, a series that has quickly become a must-have in the detective genre. The pictures really illustrated London and I especially liked the drawings of St Paul's and the Embankment. I am often a fan of European graphic novels because the art is so rich and detailed, and this book is no exception. I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Insight Editions and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. During the plot of the novel, Agent Pendergast teams up with a fictional member of the group to find a "lost" Sherlock Holmes story entitled "The Adventure of Aspern Hall".

As Holmes says, "I have one of my Baker Street boys mounting guard over him who would stick to him like a burr, go where he might". I've always wanted a greater look at these street urchins from what we've seen of them in the original stories and the adaptations, and this does a wonderful job showing what's on the line. Congrats to the whole team Paradiso Media, Emi Norris, Yael Even Or, Kaitlin Parker, Brendan Galbreath, Madeleine Weinberg, Tarek Fouda, Lisa DeCanio, Margaret Kelley, Meredith Carlin, Jillian Bonanne, Lorenzo Benedetti, Benoit Dunaigre and Louis Daboussy. I guess this comics is a good way to get acquainted with some of the characters in Doyle's famous detective. Cooler colours are used within the outside scenes, especially in relation to later times of day providing a sense of the perpetual Victorian winter concept as well as expressing the idea that the outside remains more mysterious and unsafe.

Sherlock Holmes is a classics literary institution; one which The Baker Street Four takes and re-imagines through the eyes of the children involved in Holmes’ cases. Wiggins and other Baker Street Irregulars assist Holmes in some titles in the Sherlock Holmes video game series by Frogwares, such as the 2004 game Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Silver Earring.
