Eb clarinet reeds are also suitable for use with C-Lyons or Nuvo Clarineo plastic clarinets.

The Nuvo TooT is very similar to a fife, and therefore makes a great choice for students hoping to eventually progress to playing the flute. As well as a traditional “flute-style” lip plate, the TooT is also supplied with a FirstNote lip plate. This helps with sound production in the early stages of playing, whilst the student is learning correct posture and fingering. Available in a range of bright, fun colours. The TooT comes with its own durable carry case, fingering chart and the two interchangeable lip plates. It is also waterproof, being made from plastic and silicone. This means it can be washed in warm water to keep clean, making it a great choice for younger players or a classroom environment! Piano Albums

Plastic Woodwind Instruments have become widely used in Education, not least because they are cheaper than the real thing but because they are small and light and have a remarkable sound making them very acceptable teaching instruments – not to mention almost indestructible!

The Lyons C clarinet and latterly the Clarineo is used by thousands of students throughout the world. Recently joined by the Nuvo flute and jSax, plastic woodwind instruments are opening up avenues that otherwise wouldn’t have existed.

Plastic ‘Brass’ Instruments

pBrass Instruments or Plastic ‘brass’ Instruments are a fantastic invention, resulting in many brass players accessing instruments they wouldn’t normally have had the chance to. They are great for children or for a beginner which is looking for a budget buy in the brass family and great for the school or education authority who want something that will last but at low cost. The new updated TooT now also has silicone key flaps with inserts which cover the holes needed for chromatic playing, these inserts can be removed once the student is ready for these notes. Flutes, like most woodwind instruments, are incredibly complex. The TooT overcomes fingering obstacles via four unique double holes, which makes it easier to play chromatically. The TooT is thus a perfect starter instrument to introduce the woodwind family, or perhaps for older players who played in childhood and now wish to revisit the flute or fife without spending a fortune. jSax The jSax, has been designed for players who are more specifically interested in progressing onto the saxophone. Again, like the DooD, the jSax is a single reed instrument helping to build a players sound production, posture and basic fingerings. The jSax is supplied with a carry case, a fingering chart, and 2 plastic reeds. You can also use cane reeds for a more traditional playing feel. Some soprano saxophone mouthpiece will also fit the jSax, which allows a stepped progression towards saxophone playing.
