The 2018 Mrs Tittlemouse 50p is one of the rarer Beatrix Potter commemorative 50p coins in circulation in Britain today with just 1.7 million released in 2018. Oh deary me, never did I see such a smeary, honey-ish, mossy-ish, thistle-downy mess!’ she cried. ‘And such big, dirty, toad footprints - all over my nice clean storeroom! It will take me a long time to tidy this up!’ But the untidiness was something dreadful—”Never did I see such a mess—smears of honey; and moss, and thistledown—and marks of big and little dirty feet—all over my nice clean house!” Mrs Flopsy Bunny had brushed and combed the little rabbits so often that she had collected enough fur to make a little mouse cloak and a warm pair of pretty mittens. Royal mintage figures in 2014 estimated that there were around 948 million 50p coins in circulation, which means there could be close to 1 billion now.

Mrs Tittlemouse is a terribly tidy little wood mouse. She is always sweeping her burrow, polishing and tidying. It is an endless job and it seems that no sooner has she made a good start than another messy visitor appears to leave their muddy footprints everywhere. Mrs. Tittlemouse went on her way to a distant storeroom, to fetch cherrystones and thistle-down seed for dinner. Helen Beatrix Potter was an English author, illustrator, mycologist, and conservationist who is best known for her children's books, which featured animal characters such as Peter Rabbit. The best value is to be found with coins that have a minting error or those with very few released. Although the chances of finding these are very slim. The truth is, 50p coins aren’t generally worth vast amounts of money. The Mrs Tittlemouse 50p coin was released in 2018 as part of the third instalment of the Beatrix Potter series. Other 50p coins issued that same year include Beatrix Potter The Tailor of Gloucester, Flopsy Bunny, and Peter Rabbit. Additionally, two Paddington Bear coins were issued that same year as well as a coin commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Representation of the People Act. Benjamin Bunny and Thomasina Tittlemouse heard her. They had hidden when they saw Mr McGregor and had seen everything. Good-day, Babbitty Bumble; I should be glad to buy some bees-wax. But what are you doing down here? Why do you always come in at a window, and say, Zizz, Bizz, Bizzz?” Mrs. Tittle-mouse began to get cross.

Potter's books have been translated into almost 30 languages, including Greek and Russian. The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse was translated into Afrikaans in 1930 as Die Verhaal van Mevrou Piekfyn and into Dutch in 1970 as Het Verhaal die Minetje Miezemuis . Under licence to Fukuinkan-Shoten of Tokyo, in the 1970s The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse and 11 other stories were released in Japanese. The numbers after the coin show how many of that issue were released. A brief history of the 50p coin

But the untidiness was something dreadful—“Never did I see such a mess—smears of honey; and moss, and thistledown—and marks of big and little dirty feet— all over my nice clean house!” When he had convinced himself that there was no honey in the cupboards, he began to walk down the passage. I am not in the habit of letting lodgings; this is an intrusion!” said Mrs. Tittlemouse. “I will have them turned out —”“Buzz! Buzz! Buzzz!”— In addition to the standard 50p designs, several reverse designs have been minted on the 50p coin to commemorate important events. I smell a smell of honey; is it the cowslips outside, in the hedge? I am sure I can see the marks of little dirty feet.”

Another classic tail (ha, get it?) to endure throughout time. Mrs Tittlemouse provides a short story that is full of comfort and delight. The series continued in 2019 with a collector edition Peter Rabbit coin that was not released into distribution. Mrs. Tittlemouse first appeared in Potter's The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies. An animated adaptation of the story was featured on the BBC television anthology series, The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends in 1992.It’s worth keeping an eye out for a new 50p coin and adding it to your collection. Although it’s unlikely that one day it will be worth a small fortune, there’s no harm in keeping them. She fetched soft soap, and flannel, and a new scrubbing brush from the storeroom. But she was too tired to do any more. First she fell asleep in her chair, and then she went to bed. Originally produced by Potter as a book with a leather cover, The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse was given as a New Year's gift to Nellie Warne, the young daughter of Potter's Publisher, Harold Warne. Mrs Flopsy Bunny gathered the children around her. ‘I think we’ve seen enough,’ she whispered, ‘While they are busy arguing I think it’s time we went home.’ The lowercase initials EN grace the bottom of the mouse's gown, delicately positioned towards the coin's lower right. They serve as an emblem of the designer.
