This book involves the mystery figure of M, and cleverly interweaves an investigation that Alex's wife Bree is involved with together with one that Cross and best friend John Sampson are looking into. For me it felt like one of the early Cross books; the plot was exhilarating and non-stop, the twists never stopped coming and I always enjoy the characters. Alex Cross enters the final battle with the all-knowing genius who has stalked him and his family for years. By the novel Cross, Alex discovers that an assassin named Jimmy Hats Galati, murdered his wife and was killed by his best friend, John Sampson, who didn't want Alex to go down the road of revenge. When the attacks change in dynamic, Cross has reason to suspect the two are working together to take down their targets… which include Alex Cross himself.

At the end of the novel, Kyle is killed and Bree and Alex are finally enjoying a life of peace together.He had killed his abusive father, presumably killed one of his brothers, and later killed his mother. We honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuous connection to Country, waters, skies and communities.

In Cross Fire, both Bree and Alex look forward to their wedding, while at the same time dealing with Kyle Craig. Despite only being mentioned in the first eleven books in the series, Maria makes her very first appearance in a flashback setting in Cross.The series is usually narrated in first-person perspective by Alex Cross, and occasionally from the villains' point of view in third-person. And many a sleepless night have I passed because I was going to read just one more page and, then turn off the light ! Gary Soneji/The Son of Lindbergh: is the main antagonist of Along Came a Spider, where he kidnaps two children from rich families and is captured later on.
