Some of the themes in this are darker due to its qualities in common with traditional pieces of the thriller genre so it may not be for those much younger but I would recommend from around 14 up. At other times, the voice sounded as though the teenagers themselves were narrating - we followed their thoughts, and there were expletives used as modifiers. An example is the insertion of the phrase 'nope, that wouldn't do' into the narration, which is vastly different in tone from the lyrical, poetic prologue.
