OLED Panel Maintenance: Has features to reduce the risk of burn-in associated with OLEDs, which you can read about below. Dell also offers a 3-year burn-in warranty. When you close and then reopen the lid on a laptop, the Connecting and Configuring Displays (CCD) feature in Windows automatically reverts the display mode to the last active selection. This behavior is by design in Microsoft Windows. Due to legacy platform cannot recognize or output 3440 x 1440, we suggest changing EDID to lower resolution to cover this compatibility problem. As for reservations, well, once again it's the same story as the OG Alienware OLED. For general computing the pixel density ain't great. That doesn't make for terribly crisp fonts in Windows or super sharp image detail. The triangular rather than vertically striped RGB subpixel substructure doesn't help with text clarity, either. All other products will be delivered via the fastest available method (excluding bank holidays and weekends) and generally within 3-5 days, depending on customer location.

Change the input color format to computer RGB or YPbPr in the Color Settings using the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. There are different brightness levels depending on the picture mode and whether or not HDR is enabled. In Standard mode, the Alienware AW3423DWF averaged 236 nits of brightness. HDR 400 averaged 366 nits of brightness at 40% while HDR 1000 averaged 359 nits at the same percentage. The other modes had slightly higher or lower averages than Standard but remained within the 360 range. Alienware AW3423DWF QD-OLED review: Performance The Dell AW3423DWF has a few extra features, including a Picture-in-Picture/Picture-by-Picture option to use with two devices. There are other features, including: Monitor will not support the YCbCr color format when a USB-C to HDMI dongle is connected from the monitor to the computer.x SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 1) downstream port (including one port which supports power-charging) Removable stand and Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) 100 mm mounting holes for flexible mounting solutions. As before, this monitor features six preset picture modes that are optimized for different gaming genres. Some USB devices like external portable hard drive require higher electric current; connect the device directly to the computer. For displaying non-HDR content, such as Office applications, disable the HDR display feature in Windows display settings.

The Alienware AW3423DW is a Quantum Dot-Organic Light Emitting Diode (QD-OLED) display that uses Oxide TFT as active element. The monitor features include: Accidental Damage-Additional Information: Accidental Damage Service excludes theft, loss, and damage due to fire, flood or other acts of nature, or intentional damage. Customer may be required to return damaged unit to Dell. Limit of 1 qualified incident per contract year. For more information, consumers visit Accidental Damage Service Contract (Consumer) or commercial customers visit Accidental Damage Service Contract (Commercial). AlienVision: Provides a virtual crosshair and 'Night', 'Clear', and 'Chroma' vision modes that adjust the picture to see opponents better. Your system won't detect this, giving you a competitive advantage. Estimated valueis Dell’s estimate of product value based on industry data, including the prices at which third-party retailers have offered or valued the same or comparable products, in its most recent survey of major online and/or off-line retailers. Third-party retailer data may not be based on actual sales. The biggest issue with this subpixel structure is the color fringing around some text and at the top and bottom of windows. You see a thin green line at the top of every window and a thin red line at the bottom. However, these aren't noticeable unless you look for it. Below you can see photos of the pixels from the Dell Alienware AW3423DW review, and the results are also valid for the AW3423DWF. OLED screens are almost guaranteed to improve your gaming experience, but by how much? Well, using the CalMAN monitor calibration software, a Murideo Six-G signal generator, and a Klein K-80 colorimeter, we run a few benchmark tests in hopes of quantifying the results and comparing them to displays of similar size and resolution. We leave monitors on their factory settings unless otherwise stated. All in all, not much has changed since we last reviewed Alienware's 34-inch QD-OLED, but that's by no means a bad thing. The ultrawide monitor still impresses, and for the price, it's a mighty fine deal for those looking to see what OLEDs are all about. A few minor demerits still linger, but it's hard to stay mad at an OLED for being so appealing in just about every other area. Retested the HDR Brightness after updating to firmware M3B103, and the monitor still performs the same. Ensure that the video cable connecting the monitor and the computer is properly connected and secure.

The panel itself is a Quantum Dot OLED, which, on paper, enables a slim-panel design like the AW3423DWF to deliver a superior color performance with a higher peak luminance and greater color-gamut range compared with a typical white OLED. Alienware also promises cinema-grade color coverage of 99.3% DCI-P3 and accurate colors out of the box with a factory calibration of Delta E less than 2. (We'll take a closer look at these claims in the next section.) AlienVision is a gaming aid that highlights the center of the screen. Or you can display the largest crosshair ever if you need help aiming. It’s a green cross that’s nearly four inches square. There are 12 total SDR presets, of which Standard is the default. It’s very accurate and doesn’t need further adjustment if you’re OK with the full color gamut. For sRGB, engage the Creator mode, where you can choose a gamut and change the gamma. The Game modes add RGB sliders and game presets to the mix. Or scroll to the end for Custom Color where you can adjust RGB gain and bias controls plus hue and saturation sliders for all six colors. cm (34.18 in.) viewable area (measured diagonally). Resolution: Up to 3440 x 1440 through DisplayPort and HDMI, with full-screen support or lower resolutions, supporting a high refresh rate of 165 Hz. NVIDIA G-SYNC ULTIMATE certified monitor that delivers tear free, stutter free, and ultralow latency gameplay.Horizontal stripes when watching online videos using Microsoft Movies and TV app, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. Turning on Console mode lets one adjust hue & saturation plus gamma. In HDR mode, those options are grayed out, and you can toggle Source Tone Map, which uses the source signal’s metadata to set the tone-map transition point. This serves to enhance highlight detail.
