The 340R has a 35-litre box allowing you to keep going for up to 300m² before you need to empty it. And the 380R 45-litre box gives you enough space to collect the grass clippings from a 375m² lawn. Just bear in mind that this mower is lightweight, so therefore the stripes will not be as defined and long lasting as those produced from heavier petrol or cordless mowers. The 20mm minimum is great for people who like to keep their grass very short, but the higher end of the scale could be a little more generous, in my opinion, as some mowers go up to 75mm allowing them to cut longer grass. The large diameter rear wheels on the 340R and 380R make traversing uneven ground easier. And the larger wheels also cope better with the increase in weight as the grass box becomes full. Safety Features What really stood out for me was the long power cable. A lot of people are put off the idea of buying a corded mower because they worry that it’ll limit their reach. Short of using an extension cable, a lot of mowers won’t get to every corner of your garden. However, since the Flymo EasiMow 340R is fitted with a standard 10 metre power cable you’ll be able to reach more of your garden. The 300R has a series of spacers that the operator must insert or remove from between the blade and the motor, to change the cutting height. And this also limits the 300R’s height choices to 3, with 20mm between each. Again giving you a choice of the same lowest and highest cutting heights from 20mm to 60mm. Cutting Diameter Lightweight at just 8.9kg, extra mobility is ensured thanks to the upright travel position so you can effortlessly get to and from the lawn.
