I can see why people would like this book so I wouldn’t necessarily dissuade anyone from reading it—it’s not inherently bad, it just didn’t work for me. Living a life of purpose is essential to well-being and is one of the most soulful and heart led ways to live. No emotional energy or capacity left to hide parts of myself to prioritize your comfort over my own mind-body-spirit wholeness.

What we do not realize is that these aspects of who we are mustfind expression, and so we project them onto other people, organizations, or the world at large. In doing so, she shows each of us how when we walk through our own process of “unfolding,” though it may be uncomfortable at times, there is light on the other side. And yet the only way we can heal them, move through them, and make our home a more cozy place is to turn toward them.But the real me – underneath all my learned coping patterns, how I tried to feel loved and get my needs met. A normal aspect of growing up is that we are taught what constitutes appropriate social behavior and what does not.

So I was tasting the earth with my feet, listening to it, looking at it, feeling it, knowing it, smelling it with my feet. I want to shake off any remnants of oppression that cling to me before I step into the next season of my life.

With this acknowledgement, every hidden nuance of anger, in all its glorious forms began revealing itself.
