The ADAM Audio T10S is a 10-inch studio subwoofer specially designed for the T-Series, but can also be connected to other studio monitors. As long as you set the sub/main balance correctly, I see no reason not to use this sub with mains from other manufacturers — it could breathe new life into smaller monitors. I would definitely recommend grabbing a "Hosa FSC-501 Latching Footswitch" (also bought here on SweetWater) so you can switch the sub on and off without any issues. This high-quality subwoofer will work happily with studio monitors from other brands but will work best alongside Adam Audio's T series speakers. Someone may be wondering why for the T series I chose the T8V for the test and not the smaller monitors, which cause less financial effort and fewer placement problems…?

The internal stereo crossover, is adjustable on two fixed cuts 80 e 120 Hz which together with the volume and phase adjustment, allow a good calibration of the bass signal. I am a published composer, educator and home producer and have used Mackie, Tapco, Yamaha, JBL and even the legendary BBC LS35a monitor studio speakers in the past 30 years and these ADAM Audio T5v's are up with the best, being jaw-droppingly clear and joyously accurate. Takes a couple seconds for it to fire up when you haven't used it in 15 minutes, but it is a very minor issue. In terms of experience and valuable information when making music, the ADAM Audio T10S performs very well, a nice deep low and especially in combination with the T5V, T7V or the new T8V Studio monitor.

The T10S offers a number of options for integrating the sub into your system, including two high-pass filter settings, and polarity inversion. My biggest issue with that and this is why I'm rating it lower is that the standby feature is causing me endless frustration. The cabinet, which is rear-ported via a slot above the control panel, employs an unfussy construction and is made from 18mm MDF covered with a textured, black plastic foil.

The sub is designed to be at that exact height from a flat surface (preferably floor), so finding some better decoupling might change the soundstage.
