Description

The game of Ligretto and its rules state that whoever scores the most points wins. Ligretto for the experienced Ligretto is a fun way to play games. There is no “down time”. As things become more competitive, or with large numbers of players, inevitably players will stand and jostle for position to access the played cards in the middle of the table. This is a card game that can almost become physical. In many ways - the more the merrier, and certainly the louder. A new Pile must be started with a 1 card. The 1 card must be played from either a player's Row or from their Hand.

Once a card Pile is completed, with a 10 card being played on top, no more cards may be played on that Pile. If a player is unable to play any card, they must deal three cards from their hand and reveal only the top-most card. They must continue this until the revealed card can be played. If the card revealed from the Hand is not playable, a player must continue to deal three cards, revealing only the top card, from their Hand until a legal card is playable. Ligretto is a card game for two to twelve players. The game in its current form was designed by Michael Michaels and published in 1988 by the German company Rosengarten Spiele. Since 2000, the game has been published by Schmidt-Spiele of Berlin, Germany. A blue version of the game has been published by Playroom Entertainment for North America and other English-speaking countries since 2009. [1]The winner is the player who achieves the highest although you may choose to play a set number of rounds or first to a specific score. At the end of each round, all cards on the table are flipped over, returned to the players and tallied. Draw 10 cards, which you will place, number visible, to the right of the row. This is the Ligretto draw pile.

There are three types of Ligretto playing cards (boxes of three different colours). If you buy a total of three sets, you can increase the number of players to 12. Players play cards to the table as fast as they can and at the same time.
