It's many interactive features are really impressive and kept my children playing for quiet some time. The gremlin was beside herself ready to hatch her HatchiBabies and after school we sat down and started the process by pulling the two little plastic togs out of the bottom of the egg. The eggs all look the same on the outside so there is no way of knowing whether you have a boy or girl until they hatch, although Harry was pretty certain it would be a boy! Once you have decided on a name, you can fill in the special birth certificate that comes with your HatchiBaby. To start the process you just need to remove the plastic pins from the bottom of the egg and the Hatchibaby comes to life inside. The accessory holder can then be removed from the egg and used as a high chair and the egg base can be reused again as a nest.

My kids loved the egg play stage of their Hatchibaby, especially as the egg also moved and rocked back and forth, delighting my six year old little girl, who declared that the HatchiBaby was dancing and wanted to get out. When they hear you, they reply with these cute little sounds and then you need to play with them more. I'm amazed at how interactive this toy is, it's unlike anything I've come across before and both kids are besotted. Inside the egg are four accessories hidden within peel and reveal compartments; a bottle, hairbrush, rattle, and cuddle buddy. I think the accessories are such a great addition and the HatchiBabies respond to each one differently, it really adds to the fun factor.For example purple means its hungry and needs feeding with it's bottle; red means its upset and needs to be petted or placed in it's eggshell; blue means its sad or scared and needs petting or it's cuddle buddy. It will interact and react from inside the egg, as soon as you have removed the locking keys at the bottom, so play with it and make the most of this time. Animal Colours can be played by touching and holding the left foot for 3 seconds and then when you see the colour that matches the animal sound tap it's forehead. I was surprised by how much there was do to with the Hatchimal and he’s proven really popular with both of my kids and think they’ll continue to be entertained by him for a good while yet.

My daughter fell in love with her Ponette immediately and couldn’t wait to give it lots and lots of cuddles, which the Hatchibaby loves. As soon as we opened the egg the children were amazed that it was so much bigger than the previous Hatchimals eggs we have had. The new HatchiBabies are here and they are just as bit as fun and innovative as the many products available in the Hatchimals range, including the Hatchimals Colleggtibles Series 3, we recently reviewed.
