Description

Father hadn’t talked to me about it yet, because he knew I wouldn’t have listened. However, Mia was likely right. I was a hot commodity—the only unmarried Underboss in the Famiglia. I won’t become someone else only because you don’t like who I am. You chose to marry me. You can’t form me into the wife you want. You can’t control everything, even if you think you have to.” Cassio doesn't like many things about Giulia and wants her to change. He wants her to dress more 'lady-like' and apply loads of make up so that she looks older. He also tells her to refrain from wearing anything that consists of sunflowers *blasphemy* as he hates how much she loves them. But not soon after he realises that maybe she wasn't what he needed in a wife, but she was good for him and his children and exactly what he craved. Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. Giulia has always known she’ll marry the man her father chooses for her, but she never expects to be given to someone so much older. Suddenly she’s supposed to be a mother to two small children when she hasn’t even held a baby before.

Every Underboss of the Famiglia was in attendance. Even Luca Vitiello, our Capo, had come from New York with his wife. They all wore their solemn faces—perfect masks, just like mine. They’d soon give me their condolences, whispering fake words of reassurance, when rumors about my wife’s early death were already making the rounds. you okay?” I hugged Daniele tightly to my chest, not sure why he needed my closeness but more than willing to give it to him. “Mom,” he whispered. I froze. Cassio tensed, his eyes tumultuous as he watched. Was Daniele thinking of Gaia? im not really into mafia but the tropes here ( age-gap, arranged marriage, and single dad with cute kids) are just *chef's kiss*. like this is the shit i live for. but did it work tho? mehh. it was ok. Can we talk about how cute she was? She’s so kind, compassionate, and witty that I absolutely adored her. 💕 The book ends with a nine years time jump which disconnects the story and the characters. At the moment I found it boring and just dragging.I immediately knew when Cassio tested Guilia for her loyalty that Gaia cheated. It was an easy guess and I was right. The only surprise in this book was who Gaia cheated with. It was her halfbrother. That was the only thing I didn't see coming. Other than that everything was predictable. If you read the book you will guess the upcoming events as the story progresses. I didn't find any cute scenes in the book as I expected. I didn't find Cassio as dark as I expected. I really liked Cassio's dad, for some reason I think he was right. Cassio's children with Gaia wasn't his own biologically but the product of incest between Gaia and her halfbrother. I know Cassio and Guilia are their parents in every way, blood doesn't matter. Guilia and Cassio are hiding it now but someday I think the children deserve to know. I was glad Cassio and Guilia had another baby, at least a biological baby of their own. This is definitely a standalone, but it would be a pity to miss out all the other Cora Reilly mafia novels. Each one is better than the other! For me, this is not Guilia's and Cassio's book. It's Guilia's and Cassio's children's book. Because this was a story about how Cassio got the perfect nanny for his kids. You see, she never really held a child before but same for one child crying the first time she held her and the second one acting a bit aggressively the next day she's Mary Poppins! She even got a previously untrained (and clearly neglected) dog to listen to her commands! Why do I have a feeling that it's pretty obvious what I'm going to say about this book since I started this review with this "Explanation"?)

Lo acabo de terminar y es ahora y quiero volver a releerlo, enserio se han adentrado en mi corazón. Siempre me mantuvo queriendo seguir leyendo, es que me lo terminé como en menos de un día, no me pude separar de él y tuve que dejar mis obligaciones de lado, es que este libro se merecía toda mi atención. now this bishh... i really liked her! she stood up for herself against Cassio whenever he would try to change her, she was so wise, kind, and smart, she was really good to the kids, and honestly this girl did everything and she was the one doing all the fighting let's be real here. so whenever she stayed her true self and never changed for anyone i was like The best time to read a book depends on your personal schedule and preferences. Here are some suggestions: So, Cassio. He's a major idiot. His obsessive and controlling behaviour was way too much. I secretly hoped that Guilia would set all the clothes he wanted her to wear on fire. Now to Guilia's hobbies I mentioned earlier. She mentions liking Pilates but not once in the whole book she's seen exercising.

I always seem to have some sort of issues with her plot choice but this one had a really strong storyline. The book is not explicit when it comes to violence, I could call it tame in that regard, and as I said before, this is strictly about the relationship between the leads and how it develops over time, so I’m gonna judge it from that angle, because you can’t judge a fish for its ability to climb a tree. Giulia Rizzo knows not to question what she's been groomed to become. Joining two mafia families through marriage is an honour and a big deal. Her wishes are irrelevant and her fate has been sealed.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Not in the typical way The H has trust issues from his dead wife that he projects on to the h The first time Cassio meets his fiancée, she calls him “sir.” After losing his wife, Cassio is left to take care of two small children while trying to establish his rule over Philadelphia. Now he needs a mother for his children and someone who can warm his bed at night. But in a world as traditional as his, choosing your wife is duty not pleasure. After finishing Twisted Hearts, I was rather unsure if I want to read this book or continue with this whole series. (Well, not a series what is it even? Since we had two series and now a stand-alone.)
