One of the main draws of Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita? ka is its impeccable blend of humor and heart. The manga is a masterclass in comedic timing, effortlessly weaving hilarious Sooooo… very useless Magical level, which means they’re going to pretend he just… doesn’t exist? Isn’t their child? That’s not right :/ If you ask me, we've gotten used to the same old, tried-and-true Isekai reincarnation shitshows that have come out every season that try to sell their "differing" narratives for years now. But to bet on what is "actually" good (though "good" is calling it a bit of a Laius remains bitter over his defeat. His servant suggests he spend time getting to know Char during his tour of the kingdom. This makes Haruto suspicious. That night Haruto defeats a group of mages who admit they were sent by the Queen to assassinate Char, who has the magical potential to surpass the Queens own power. Haruto realises the Queen, his birth mother Gizelotte, must be evil and knows from personal experience she is willing to kill children if it serves her purpose. He swears to keep Char safe, even if he has to assassinate Gizelotte. Haruto learns from Gold Gizelotte was an adventurer before she killed the Demon Lord and married King Jilq, but in her quest for power she has overthrown Jilq and now rules alone, so her death would cause civil war as nobles fought for the throne. Gold hopes Char might one day be powerful enough to overthrow Gizelotte and replace her as a benevolent queen. To this end he enlists Haruto’s help in protecting Char until she grows up. Haruto agrees, though privately he desires his own revenge on Gizelotte and begins planning to kill her himself.

Haruto "Hart" Zenfis is a NEET wanting to avoid bullying and the spotlight. That is until he is summoned by a goddess and reincarnated into a world where magic rules all over. The goddess grants him a cheat power that is off the charts, and is reborn into a royal family just so he can live peacefully. But things take an unexpected turn. His magic power was measured and deemed as powerless due to a faulty assessment method right after birth. The misunderstanding royal parents regard the newborn prince as a disgrace. They claim that he was stillborn and abandoned him in a forest. He uses a wide variety of magic barriers to survive in the wild. A beautiful female Fenrir named Flay discovers Haruto, and respecting his excessive power, she offers her loyalty and services to him. Gold Zenfis (a distant relative of Hart's) approaches him and Flay to be brought into his family. Growing up, Hart lives a rather awkward life and just wants to chill out, as he navigates demon friendships, royal feuds, assassination plots, secret superhero identities, and having a little sister. Now, this is the majority of my focus on this review. You've seen a bunch of MC by now, and they're mostly either timid, doing things tentatively, or aloof, intelligent, and condescending. However, the MC from this story is a combination of both factors, just with a little bit of savagery. The MC is just lovable and overall, wants the best for his family while being charitable and solicitous time from time. However, when it comes to people who would disrupt his plans of being a shut-in during his times in this fantasy world or hurt people important to him(Mostly family) he would be ruthless and slaughter without mercy. Even though his personality can be cruel at times, he still cares about what his little sister sees, so he would refrain from blood in front of her, and he doesn't bravado with his powers deliberately in front of others. Just overall, an MC that is not totally guileless, or being too disingenuous. a b c d Dempsey, Liam (July 14, 2023). "Am I Actually The Strongest? English Dub Reveals Cast and Crew, Release Date". Crunchyroll . Retrieved July 14, 2023. As a baby, he used his barrier powers to relieve himself in a bathroom; rather than suffering the humiliation of soiling a diaper. A hikikomori is reincarnated to another world with superior magic, though he just plans to be a hikikomori again. He awakens as newborn Prince Reinhardt, son of King Jilq and Queen Gizelotte the former heroine. Discovering his magic level is only 02 and he can only use Barrier magic, the embarrassed parents abandon him in a forest. It is revealed the measuring crystal only measures two digits; his power level is actually 1002, on par with a God. Reinhardt finds Barrier magic has a variety of uses, allowing him to fly and fight. He defeats a Flame Fenrir named Flay and, wanting to hide his royal lineage, impulsively claims he is Demon Lord Haruto and takes her as his familiar in the form of a beautiful young woman (whom he develops a secret crush on). Count Gold Zenfris, a relative of King Jilq, is disgusted by Jilq’s actions and secretly adopts Haruto as his son and Flay his servant. Nine years later Haruto lives with Gold, his mother Natalia and sister Charlotte. He struggles with Charlotte who appears not to like him but also plans to quietly run away one day. Gold starts teaching him the sword but Haruto, having refined his mastery of Barrier magic, is now a powerful fighter. Gold and Natalia worry Haruto’s strange abilities might mean he has a demon ancestor, also explaining Flay’s attachment to him, but are satisfied they have raised him as a good man.

Am I Actually the Strongest?

My enjoyment is a 7(Average in my own terms). This story is easily anticipated and the flow of things isn't too fast, nor too slow, which is rather nice. This is Staple Entertainment's 2nd full-fledged series, and it doesn't look all that different from the newbie studio's debut work of last Summer's Kinsou no Vermeil a.k.a Vermeil in Gold in regard to animation quality. It's just decent and nothing noteworthy, despite the fact that the anime is actually following the manga adaptation of the LN to almost a 1-to-1 degree. Same with the OST; it's just there, but nothing worth remembering outside of the show. Pineda, Rafael Antonio (September 7, 2022). "Am I Actually the Strongest? Isekai Novels Get 2023 TV Anime". Anime News Network . Retrieved September 7, 2022. English: My experience was bad. Despite not reaching the point of abandoning it, the plot and the main character contributed to a constant feeling of boredom. The protagonist, far from embodying the desired qualities in an isekai, seems to resent every aspect of the adventure, from fighting to simple work or study. The plot, which promised a lot with typical elements of reincarnation, broken powers, and difficult missions, failed to fulfill any of its promises. Don’t know exactly who this guy is, but it’s nice to have someone around who knows how to look after a baby, and who isn’t completely dense 8’D

Nothing to say much here, just art that is coherent and decipherable. Nothing too much, and nothing too little. Oh boy. That goddess did NOT do a good job, huh? Basically a case of mistaken identity… but with magic level 8’D a b c d e f Hodgkins, Crystalyn (June 9, 2023). "Am I Actually the Strongest? Anime's 2nd Promo Video Reveals Opening Theme, July 1 Debut, More Cast". Anime News Network . Retrieved June 9, 2023. With its captivating story, well-developed characters, and impeccable blend of humor and heart, Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita? ka is a must-read for manga enthusiasts seeking a lighthearted and entertaining experience. The series has gained a dedicated following for its unique take on the overpowered protagonist trope, and its popularity has led to calls for an anime adaptation.

Am I Actually the Strongest? Manga Summary

Pineda, Rafael Antonio (July 1, 2022). "EXCLUSIVE: Kodansha USA Licenses The Yakuza's Bias, Lovely Muco!, Iruma-kun, More Titles". Anime News Network . Retrieved September 10, 2022. I've aggregated my beliefs of what is mediocre. As I see it, this show started strong and had the potential of being better, but that wasn't auspicious for the author to write about. If you ask me, I would've liked to see the growth of the MC, and not some huge time skip into the future, for the idea of having conscience and precociousness as a kid growing up is, in my opinion, pretty nice and humorous to see, as well as the relationships he might've accumulated throughout his childhood could've been seen. So overall a 7, the slightly higher than mediocre.

In March 2022, Kodansha USA announced that they licensed the series for English publication. [10] Volume list [ edit ] No.

What’s the barrier between him and Charlotte? Is it just that he’s socially anxious, or something else? Nine years pass with Haruto under the care of the Zenfis family. His mastery over his overpowered barrier magic increases by the day, though Haruto would rather not use it to help others. He practices his magic in secret, preferring to have his family believe that he is weak. However, his younger sister, Charlotte, discovers his strength, and with the assistance of Flay, Haruto protects her and the rest of the Zenfis family from harm. With a shifty plot stirring in the kingdom, Haruto only wishes to stay inside and watch anime, but it seems he will have to use his magic to keep the family that took him in safe.

A NEET in his real life to then only be reincarnated in another world where he wants to continue lavishing his NEET lifestyle — this is the crux objective for Haruto Zenfis. As a baby, once abandoned by the family he came from, he was adopted by a lowly family simply because he didn't fit the usual kingdom requirement of competent magical abilities. That, and how his magic was measured, meant that due to some faulty assessment, he was deemed a failure, but in retrospect, he's the same OP-ness of an MC, and of course, how would people know unless he unleashed this exact power? So then, the lowly Zenfis family accepted him into their household, where, as Haruto grows up, he just wants a life of relaxation and navigates all troubles to ensure he maintains his NEET lifestyle. And in this case, it kind of feels refreshing that the typical OP MC is not summoned and tasked to defeating some Demon Lord or King by gathering a dream team of a harem party and growing stronger; we don't need crap like that. He is more than willing to kill her if she threatens his sister, Charlotte. He even placed a slave collar on his birth mother while warning her that she will lose her head if she would try to remove it, showing his intention to commit matricide as well he will never remove the collar he placed on her until if she changes and realized her wrongdoings. He also hates his father, Jilq for his selfishness and ignorance despite he saving him by eliminating Gizelotte's henchman, but it wasn't out of forgiveness because his father is still self-deluded idiot.
