Description

We tested the 'Animal' variant of the Dyson V7. Thereare other variants of this vacuum sold, which differ only in included attachments and equipment. We expect them to perform similarly. Model Name However, the Dyson V7 achieved a more than satisfactory overall result of 92% on short carpets. Cleaning on Long Pile Carpets For a handheld vac, you won't get much better in terms of suction. The Trigger sports the same Dyson V7 digital motor as the larger model, so it has incredible power for such a small unit. With these standard tests, we aim to compare different vacuum cleaners and offer you the best possible advice.

Just like the larger V7 Absolute, the Trigger sports the hygienic bin system which makes emptying the reservoir simple and painless. Joe, our wireless vacuum expert on the Smart Home Fox team, has spent over half a decade meticulously testing every model that has landed with us. In our review, the Dyson V7 Motorhead cordless vacuum cleaner turned out to be a high-quality cordless vacuum at a fair price. Mini brushroll: Like the main brushroll, you can also take it off the turbo brush to remove any debris or tangled hair.

Affordable, powerful and easy to handle

The best solution for this is a soft roller, which is supplied with many cordless vacuum cleaners and it’s ideal for cleaning hard floors. This was proven in our test of the Dyson V10 Absolute. Cleaning on Short Carpet During the test, the devices have to vacuum different kinds of dirt from different floor types. Overall, the Dyson V7 did a very good job. The cordless household helper only reached its limits on hard floors. Cleaning on Hard Floors It’s important to you that your cordless vacuum cleaner is not too heavy. With 2.3 kg, the Dyson V7 is a real lightweight.

The V7 Trigger is pretty scarce when it comes to attachments. In the box you'll get the crevice tool for getting down the side of your car seats, and the combination tool, with a wider barrel for larger surface areas and a brush addition for hard surfaces. We've converted this review to Test Bench 1.2. This update builds on our previous 'Suction' test with a new ' Airflow' test that more accurately measures a vacuum's ability to generate air movement. If you'd like to see an in-depth look at the reasoning and methodology behind this change, you can see our full changelog here.. Dirt compartment: You can pull the release latch on top of the vacuum to open the bottom hinged door and dump out any accumulated debris without dirtying your hands. You may need to use a damp cloth to clean debris from the lint screen.

Direct Drive floorhead, mini motorhead, soft dusting brush, combination tool, crevice tool, HEPA post-motor filter Not only the cyclone technology developed by Dyson UK ( more details here) determines the cleaning performance. In the best case, some other features also give a little boost to the cleaning performance of the cordless vacuum. The Electric Floor Brush Obviously, there's no floor performance stats to discuss, as it doesn't really matter here. But whatever other surface you're working on, the V7 Trigger will clean it.

Direct Drive floorhead, mini motorhead, soft dusting brush, combination tool, crevice tool, pivot extender, HEPA post-motor filter The Dyson V7 comes with two suction levels. The low level is usually sufficient for removing normal dirt. When it gets down to the nitty gritty, only the turbo mode can make it happen. The difference is obvious and when vacuuming with the V7, you’ll often wish that it had a longer runtime in turbo mode. How long does the Dyson V7 battery last? This vacuum's suction force has been retested with a more accurate manometer. The test results for the 'Maximum Suction' and 'Normal Suction' fields have been updated. All relevant scores and text have been updated. The battery indicator is a single light on one side of the V7’s handle (as opposed to the three-bar light found on the V8). Also on the main unit is the slider to switch suction modes – while it’s located right in front of the handheld unit, you will need your other hand to swap modes if you’re doing so in the middle of a clean. That’s the only thing you’re going to need both hands for, though, as the V7 is remarkably easy to use single-handed. Performance

Admittedly, the battery life on the V7 Trigger isn't amazing, and probably sits around the mid range for a handheld vac. Particularly when it comes to the max power mode, which will only give you six minutes before it bites the dust.

Sand was not a problem on hard floors. But when it came to coarse dirt like lentils and oat flakes, the V7 definitely had a harder time. The coarse dirt was only pushed around in front of the roller and some of it was even skidded around. We assess the cleaning performance of each vacuum cleaner, compare it to the competition, and then rate it. And in max mode, the suction is second-to-none. I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a handheld that does the same job on both carpets and hard surfaces. You want a cordless vacuum cleaner with a 2-in-1 function that allows you to clean both your home and your car, for example. The conversion works perfectly well and gives you much more possibilities in use. When we put the Dyson V7 Motorhead cordless vacuum cleaner through the wringer with our challenges, we mercilessly revealed its strengths and weaknesses.
