In all cases, a ramped temperature post-cure is required before the component or mould can be used at elevated temperature. Industrial Metal Rapid 5 Minute should be applied as soon as the preparation procedure is completed. Scrape or ‘knife in’ the Centrecoat Epoxy Paste Adhesive and finish with trowel, palette knife or spatula.

That is to say that you would start with one (or preferably two) applications of epoxy tooling gelcoat. Before applying Industrial Metal Rapid 5 Minute, surfaces should be free of paint, rust and grime before being roughened up through either grit blasting or grinding with a coarse wheel or abrasive disk pad. Mild steel and other metallic substrates shall be degreased, power wire brushed or grit blasted and vacuumed free from dust. Pigment has already been added to the basecoat resin at 10% which is at the upper end of how much pigment can be added to a resin but if you wanted to experiment with making increasing the intensity of the pigment further then you could try adding up to a maximum of an additional 5% by weight of this pigment to the basecoat. EMP160 can be used on its own or can be used to fill in corners or detailed sections on larger or more complex moulds before the main reinforcement is added.
