Now don't get me wrong - I think all perfumes should have proper strength and longevity, and *especially* if the product costs more money.

It was sort of pleasant at first, but the citrus mixed with coffee and vanilla is a bold bizarre mix! And for some reason my nose (/brain) can't pick up the coffee notes at all - maybe I drink too much coffee. It’s quite a lot more fresh than an orange blossom essential oil type of scent, which is more heady and intoxicating, rather than dancing around you all fresh and bright. Black Opium Neon blends the opening note of pitahaya with a heart of orange blossom on a base of coffee.

For medium intensity: spray in a y-shape across your body, beginning at one shoulder and finishing at the other. Scarves: for lighter fragrance, spray a scarf and wrap the scarf around your neck to transfer fragrance onto yourself gently. This feels fun but mellow, not as 'electrifying' as what you'd think for neon, but I think the kind of dragonfruit pink color of the juice is a pretty accurate depiction of it. The dragon fruit note is more of a fancy way of saying 'fruity notes' in my opinion, dragon fruits don't have an intense taste or smell anyways.

Orange blossom is also the most prominent note from beginning to end of the perfume lifecycle with dragon fruit supporting that soapy sweetness. The fruity note in BO Neon reminds me a lot of Britney Spears’s In Control Curious… and that’s about as much as I can say on this fragrance.This is just a berry/sweeter version of the opium and to be honest, still misses the mark with this one, as I find it now far too sweet but also heavy and still headache inducing. The adrenaline-rich coffee gives way to a heart of jasmine and orange blossom, teamed with juicy dragon fruit tingling with radiance, and enveloped by vanilla and white musk, making for a women’s perfume that is both couture and edgy. I can see myself reach for this during spring nights also, where I only reach for the original Black Opium and the Nuit Blanche during the winter and late fall.

This was the first designer perfume I ever fell in love with and wow, it still surprises me every time I wear it. But It’s absolutely perfect for special events and parties, and I have gotten so many compliments on it. For light intensity: spray in a cloud around your head and shoulders, let the fragrance fall gently around you.The difference is that this is slightly sweeter and headier than the original because of the dragon fruit and lasts marginally longer although both last 6-7 hrs on my skin. Like in couture tailoring, the signature BLACK OPIUM bottle is re-visited and given a silhouette with the contemporary woman in mind. A bit 'ripe banana'on first spray, anddidntcomeoff heavy sweet, it warms and sweetens as the day goes on. Blind bought this (due to lockdown), thinking it would be a fresher, citrussy take on the original Black Opium.

I've always been biased against Black Opium, except for Floral Shock which I regret not having bought. It's a black opium with higher highs and lower deep notes - and all that without ever feeling synthetic. However, a few hours later as it dried down the citrus has grown really strong that it suffocated me! I dont get much of the coffee in this version and Im glad because Im allergic to caffeine and I cannot stand the smell of coffee, well unless its Greek/turkish coffee.Compared to Black Opium, this is less heavy on the milk-coffee vanilla but has a powdery gourmand vanilla note that I know from Si Fiori. They do smell quite different overall, but the whiffs I get do seem quite similar at times, I’m fairly certain it’s the mandarin coming through, combined with the peppery note.
