The characters are not too fleshed out except for the two leads as this manga is currently only on its second volume. I will say though that what I have seen so far is very good, and a vast majority seem believable in their motivations and actions. My review probably sounds like a less-than-3-stars one, but that's at least in part due to my feelings about the light novel. I tend to rate initial volumes higher than they maybe deserve, on the theory that the series has a chance to get better, and technically that's true for this series too. Ever the optimist, at least where manga and light novels are concerned. Miyo's sense of self-worth is pretty much in tatters at the start of the story, so it's mostly about her regaining confidence and finding love. And obviously, Kyoka has his own issues of trust/dealing with women, so the story is basically about two awkward people learning to slowly connect. There are plenty of things happening around that (Miyo's family, her mother's family, Kyouya's family, etc.), but it's kind of a mellow series. Nothing too dramatic happens.
