Accordingly, if you’re looking for a Roku TV or 144Hz support or anything else, you can find it within TCL’s many different UK TVs on offer; however, for the purposes of this guide, we’ll be focusing on TCL’s flagship, lower-cost TVs with the most mainstream appeal. Three lines of TV make up TCL’s most recent, budget-oriented TVs: the C64K Series, the RC630K Series and the C745K Series. These TVs scale up in terms of price and features like HDR, QLED displays, Dolby Atmos, and more.

Calling in Onkyo to help out the 65C815K’s sound quality results in an impressive audio performance for such an affordable TV. Watch smarter with Android: Built with an Android ecosystem and Google Assistant, your favorite content is always front and center. With the Google Play Store, whatever you like - Freeview Play, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube - there is an app you are going to love. Plus, plug in and play, with HDMI and USB connectivity.Auto-off– an important feature that all TVs should have. Whether you forget to turn the TV off or fall asleep watching The Crown, this feature stops the TV from playing all night and wasting energy. It has other features we would only expect of a much pricier TV, too. IMAX Enhanced gives you cinema-style visuals, while Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X provide immersive audio. I will re-iterate, do NOT buy a TCL TV if you want a trouble free experience. These guys have done nothing to improve this, for your entertainment just do a search for "Audio Sync issue TCL" and you will find many many people with exactly the same issues. It can't be blamed on a service provider. Note that, even though we didn’t find it particularly slow, this isn’t the fastest TV out there. Sound quality is also OK (It’s Dolby Audio, after all), but as with many TVs, a soundbar could be a nice addition. But again, this is compared to the top TVs on this list that cost 8 or 9 times the price of this TCL… The 65-inch P615K flatscreen TV by TCL is a fantastic energy efficient choice if you want a large screen, as it scores an E energy rating!

Discover the best stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic in one place. From hit movies to timeless classics and new original - there's something for everyone. The latest standard for 4K UHD content is High Dynamic Range. It expands the range of both contrast and colors significantly. HDR reproduces accurately light and dark shades with precise colors and dazzling detail images. Resolution – not to be overlooked! The best TV will offer the best resolution with the lowest power consumption. We know you don’t want to sacrifice a quality resolution for better energy efficiency.

Effortless Wall Mounting: The slim design provides more vision using less space. Wall-mount your TV or use the included easy-to-install TV mount. Rigorously tested media meets industry standards. Note: VESA = width 200mm x height 200mm (50 '' / 55 ''). All TVs sold in the UK should have this label – don’t buy one that doesn’t, even if it’s second hand. It won us over in our review, earning itself five stars and a subsequent What Hi-Fi? Award as a result, due to its sheer performance per pound proposition. It's contrast-rich and vivid colours secured it the win, making a case for opting for this cheaper model over the more expensive OLED sets on the market. What really makes this TV an excellent choice is the average power consumption. Its average power consumption, when turned on, is ONLY 31W. That’s hardly anything! We barely noticed it on our energy bill after a month of testing it out. Without the scene-by-scene picture date of Dolby Vision and HDR10+ to guide it, however, the 65C815K’s presets rather lose the plot. Saturations with the industry standard HDR10 sources that actually make up the majority of HDR content are pushed way too far, losing subtle shading and detail in the process. As a result, bright pictures can end up resembling weird hand-painted caricatures rather than natural video.

And if size is an issue, consider buying a model that's easily wall mounted. These smaller smart TVs are perfect for a guest room without taking up too much space. We have a number of suitable 32-inch models for you to choose from. Selecting the smart TV that's right for you The rear does suddenly become chunkier a few inches in from those super-svelte edges, but even then the set wears this extra area of bulk quite nicely. The chunkier area doesn’t just house the screen’s processors and connections; it also provides space for TCL to build in a strikingly large rear-facing bass driver – again adorned by the Onkyo logo. You could also take a similar approach to the Movie mode settings, if you don’t mind colours looking quite substantially flatter. Thousands of popular movies & TV shows, award-winning Prime Originals and live sports. Plus, FREE One-Day Delivery on millions of items. Watch anywhere. Cancel anytime. TCL's flagship set, the Mini LED powered C845K is a truly impressive TV. It's the brand's highest end model, offering flagship screen tech and specs to match. Built for gamers and movie fans alike, it utilises a Mini LED panel to deliver a dazzlingly bright and punchy picture. On fast-moving actions you wont want to miss a beat. TCLs Motion Clarity technology steps up the plate when watching your favourite sports or fast-paced movies and tv shows, helping reduce motion display blur and keeping motion trails to a minimum. Your viewing experience will always be crystal clear, whether the source 50Hz or 60Hz. If you're interest in finding out more about smart TVs, you can read our articles below or take a look at our blog for more information related to the tech world. TCL’s flagship Roku TVs have a lot of commonalities between them, each coming with a 60Hz refresh rate, Dolby Digital Plus audio, HDMI ARC (or eARC) connections, and typical features like VESA mounts and an included remote. At their core is the Roku OS – a portal to streaming apps – though you can opt for Android/Google versions of these TVs over Roku if you prefer.

The problem is that the set’s edge-based lighting system just can’t control its light locally enough, with the result that whenever you’re watching a dark scene, especially an HDR dark scene, some supposedly dark areas look lighter than others, even though they shouldn’t. Some of these ‘cloudy’ areas are both central to the picture, and quite large. So there’s no ignoring them. The 2.1 Onkyo sound system provides 70W of power through two forward-firing drivers, and one large bass radiator on the rear. There’s built-in Dolby Atmos decoding, too. Do not forget to recycle your old TV. E-waste is a big problem. Recycling is not the solution but it helps. As for features, this is a Smart TV with 4K and UHD capability, so you can watch The Crown in all its high definition glory! We found the picture quality to be especially bright. If you’re into gaming, you’ll be happy to read that this TV has a refresh rate of 120Hz and comes with 4 HDMI ports (1 of them is HDMI 2.1 for gaming at 4K/120Hz)The soundbar manages to radiate sound up as well as forward, creating at least a vague sense of height with Dolby Atmos mixes – although there aren’t really any specific overhead effects to speak of. Energy rating– we only considered TVs that have the new rating, as it shows that the TV company/brand is keeping up to date with regulations and is at least trying to be responsible for their environmental impact! You might think that the TVs we listed rank poorly with their E or F rating, but know this: most TVs went from A+ to G with the new system. In other words: an E-rated TV is good!
