At the same time I discovered that the default OSSC programming is only to the "TV" set on the remote and not the "SAT" or "DVD". And the chances of reprogramming the "TV" set with my butt is nonzero. It seems that there also some HDM adapters on the market to connect the PS2 directly via TV to market. What you guys think about that. Worth the money or should I get a real component cable instead? This seems to shape up nicely, and impressive that it already improves upon what way more expensive devices can do, but they could at the very least have made some kind of enclosure around it, instead of having such a bare bones design.

The HDMI Full vs Limited setting does change something. Full is on be default and the colors looked better to my eyes with full on. Best image quality for Wii and Gamecube games is to use component or RGB cables and play games at 480i on a professional CRT in case you are interested iceman, I can post a report how I liked the cable. But will take some time. It has little more tweeking around than the Framemeister due it’s missing audio support so it might not be one for beginners. Consider this one instead of the FM if you want lagfree processing! The OSSC makes the XRGB-3 and other linedoublers obsolete. Upscaler ModelI'm not completely sure about the default button mapping process, but that's how I read it on the wiki. Someone please confirm that piece of it.

The OSSC by Markus Hiienkari. This one is considerably a less expensive scaling solution than the Framemeister. Once all remote control keys/buttons are programmed, the new keymap will be saved and the OSSC will return to normal operationI second the notion for YPbPr component. With a quality cable, the picture quality is indistinguishable from RGB, and it will be simple for you to use ED and HD display modes (480p, 720p, 1080i). If you want to be on the cutting edge of what’s out there now and enjoy tinkering with your setup, look into the OSSC. By itself, it might be the perfect device for your setup, or might require more equipment to work properly…but with some work, it’s got the potential to be the best, lowest-lag solution. Depending on the final solution, 0 – 1 frame of lag added. The monster cables should be hard to find Europe too. If Adam Koralik from youtube is right monster probibited to sell their cables outside the Us. Even in Canada. It was not about ps2 cables though it was about S-video cables for the Gamecube. If the info is correct not many guys in Europe should have the stuff. if you're playing original Wii or GameCube titles you should probably set the output to 480p, unless your display does a bad job processing 480p, then you might as well just output 1080p. the only problem you might run into when upscaling 480p games to 1080p is that the Wii U doesn't do integer scaling, so you might get a few resolution scaling artifacts ( but I haven't done in-depth testing on this). and then there's the color corrective issues 480p titles are output in RGB 4:2:2, for some reason setting the Wii U to anything higher (720p/1080p) outputs them in ycbcr 4:2:0. so you might get some loss of color resolution and see chroma up sampling errors ( depending on how your display handles that stuff) Elrinth wrote:had a thunderstorm here a couple of days ago and my splitter stopped working. also the framemeister seems to no longer be able to output any image on the hdmi.

You have to switch the Toro into the darker mode, cause otherwise the colors seems far off from your earlier Toro profile? The Kaico HDMI Adapter is a great choice for anyone looking to play their old Nintendo consoles on a modern TV without the hassle of additional hardware or cables. The plug-and-play design makes it easy to set up, and the support for multiple consoles means you can use it for all your retro gaming needs. If you want to set the remote to the default button mapping, press BTN0 on the OSSC's PCB when "MENU" is displayed. FBX wrote:Oh an one last cherry on top: The FM uses RGB limited mode no matter what setting you try. My E1S wouldn't show colors correctly from the Framemeister unless I set it to 601 Limited or 701 Limited. Full gave washed out colors. Pound for pound, this device seems to be a FAR better option than any other device, both functionality-wise and price-wise, especially if you take into account how much you're getting for a considerably lower price. I was always looking for a solution like this, but was never willing to pay the ridiculous prices that the other devices go for, so this one is definitely on my "to buy" list.
