The art style is beautiful and is very detailed where it needs to be. The only thing that could make the artwork any better is if the whole book was full-color. But, that's not commonplace in manga it seems.

The story itself is very interesting. This is book 2 so the quest is already underway to get to the bottom of the Abyss and find Riko's mom. They meet a friend of her mom's at a way station in the second layer.
