A 200g large chlorine tablet (3 inch diamater) and a 20g small chlorine tablet (1 inch diameter). The large 200g tablets are mainly designed for swimming pools whilst the 20g tablets are for hot tubs and small splasher pools.Due to the water capacity, we do not reccomend using large 200gswimming pool tablets in a hot tub as they will lead to high levels of chlorine which could cause damage to components. Use 20g chlorine tablets only in hot tubs. How Long do Chlorine Tablets Last in a Hot Tub?

Your hot tub will need to be treated with a Sanitiser to control and prevent bacteria growth. Bacteria can multiply rapidly in a hot environment, so you must maintain an appropriate sanitiser level to ensure any bacteria in the water is killed. There are two main sanitisers available to keep your hot tub clean and these are chlorine and bromine. Option One – Chlorine NB: Active oxygen is sensitive to temperature variations and high temperatures. In the event of a significant increase in water temperature, the quantities must be increased. Active oxygen works very well in combination with other chemical molecules. Treating your hot tub at the PHMB (Biguanide) Total Alkalinity (TA) is the measure of your hot tub water’s ability to neutralise acids. Balanced Total Alkalinity helps control the pH levels and the correct level to aim for is between 80 and 120 parts per million (ppm). PHMB is an interesting treatment because it is soft and stable. It is very insensitive to temperature and pH variations. Taking the following steps can help prevent a chlorine rash. The tips below may be especially useful for people who know that they are sensitive to the chemical:Drain hot tub to the minimum mark and re-fill with fresh water to the maximum mark, this will help to dilute the excess chlorine. Bromine has the same disinfection qualities as chlorine. But its advantage over chlorine is that it is stable: insensitive to high temperatures, UV and pH variations. The type on the left is cheaper and more common, but also less sophisticated. The top has an opening and the bromine tablets are placed inside. You twist the bottom to try to limit how much water can get inside, but it's not the most accurate mechanism in my experience. While the prospect of a chlorine rash may dampen the fun of swimming, most of these rashes are not serious. Most test strips will allow you to test for either chlorine or bromine. If your test strips are 4-way (or higher) this means they can test for both. If you only have 3-way chlorine test strips, then you will need to buy some new bromine-compatible test strips.

Be careful though, chlorine is sensitive to high temperatures. It is much less effective above 28C. It is therefore not the most appropriate treatment for hot tubs. Remove the cover from Lay-Z-Spa to allow evaporation of the chlorine (keep the filter running constantly).

Most owners follow a strict maintenance routine for exactly this reason. Routine cleaning also makes it simple for you to stay on schedule, ensuring your water is working at its best 24/7. Bromine tablets dissolve according to how large the tablets are, and how much of the tablet is exposed to water.

Chlorine is a chemical used to disinfect pools and hot tubs. It can significantly irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory system. The symptoms of a chlorine rash can vary in intensity from person to person. They are similar to symptoms of rashes caused by other irritants.Active oxygen is frequently used for hot tub treatment. It is a non-irritating and natural product. Never get in a spa if the bromine levels are above 10 ppm, and ideally wait until they are in the 2-6 ppm range.
