We really like the Braun multiquick 9; it is certainly one of the best thought-out blending systems on the market, and allows you a lot of the benefits afforded by a pricier blender, while providing the ease and convenience of a lower cost stick option.In our experience, you’ll have to spend several hundred pounds on an upright jug style blender for more effective ice crushing. On the other hand, the Braun has a much better build quality, and its blades are dishwasher-safe, so it's easier to clean. More recently, the new Spiralizer MQ 5064 has the jug, and rather unusually, you might find it on the MQ 3 model MQ 3045 Aperitive (shown in the picture below). The Braun is significantly better-built, its blade shaft is dishwasher-safe, and it comes with a couple of attachments, like a whisk.

For the most part, this looks and feels like the premium hand blender it is, although a large chunk of its cost comes from those additional accessories. Some stirring is required to get rid of these shapes, but we did enjoy the relatively lump-free consistency of our mash. The main test of a quality food processor is its chopping ability, so we added a few onions to the bowl and blitzed them for a few seconds. When performed in the jug, we found that it could cope with a handful of ice as long as there was plenty of liquid too. i too ten to give up with the old hand spiralizer feeling, but tbh I´m loving my mandoline more and more and am getting more and more spiralizer style fixes with it… if you know what I mean.However, the Cusinart is cordless, which you might find more convenient, especially if your kitchen is short on outlets.
