John Tucker is well known in the rented house he shares with fellow Briar hockey players Garrett Graham, John Logan and Dean Di Laurentis, as being the nurturer. That way the assholes behind me can learn a little patience instead of laying on the horn like we’re all in some motherfucking emergency,” Tucker grumbles as he helps me out. He recognises that and is prepared to wait patiently for her to realise he’s not going anywhere and he’s exactly where he wants to be. When free, not working on her writing and not spending time with her loved ones, Elle loves to read other interesting materials by her favorite authors.

However, after the major component coming from her POV, knowing of her property lifespan as well as what she was actually dealing with when she was actually out the Briar premises, I was actually taking for Sabrina. Apparently I’m the only one who thinks this is the worst fucking idea since horses,” Garrett says irritably. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. He knows that the two of them could be something great together, but proving that to her is not an easy feat. You’ll be interested to know then that all of the covers of the series are being changed (very soon) to more represent the new adult vibe of the series. You better believe I'd rip out a spark plug or two if it meant getting to spend even five seconds in your presence. Her journey was a personal highlight in this book and seeing her adapt to motherhood, pursue her dream, and along the way let Tucker into her heart was a delight.

The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. These things were just left and I’d have liked to know how they were worked out, particularly given that they were a big deal in the wider context of the book. Tucker worked very hard of course, but there was maybe some subtext in there about double standards and the way athletes are lauded.

Sabrina is not afraid of doing the hard thing and she’s also not ashamed of taking some pleasure for herself.

It also struck me though, that Tucker’s talent for hockey gave him an advantage not available to Sabrina, who had to pay for her education at Briar (whereas Tucker was on a hockey scholarship). Tucker does the cooking and ensures everyone eats well but he’s otherwise been fairly quiet and largely unknown to series readers. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change. The goal has been to get a high enough GPA to get into Harvard after college and then from there to keep working her butt off to get a job in “Big Law”. Their unplanned maternity turns each of their cosmos topsy turvy, steering Tuck as well as Sabrina down a technique neither of all of them are actually gotten ready for. I kiss each of my biceps and then point to the ceiling and thank the big man upstairs for creating such a perfect male specimen. In 2010, she was nominated for the RITA award following her impressive writing approach in her debut novel with Silhouette Romantic Suspense.

She reads contemporary, historical, a little paranormal, urban fantasy and romantic suspense, as well as erotic romance and more recently, new adult. It’s something readers would need to be careful about because there are so many potential triggers in it and, unlike a romance novel, for the most part, it doesn’t have a happy ending. For this, she takes time to explain how she creates that tension with her characters claiming, it is not something which she consciously thinks about. The Goal is the fourth book, in Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus series, and centers around the last single roommate in the house - Tucker, and Sabrina, the super driven, Harvard Law bound student, who just happens to be Dean's (The Score) nemesis. For instance, at the moment she claims to be working on three different series all set for release shortly after.Every time I try to encourage Sabrina to do her breathing, she glares at me like I slaughtered her treasured family pet. Over the years since she started writing, Elle’s work has not gone unnoticed, this is clearly evident from the fact that over the years since the release of her debut title, she has won several high profiled awards linked to writing and her other books earning her a fair amount of nominations for other equally prestigious awards. Looking more into how she does her writing, it is clearly evident that her characters definitely come first during her writing. At the end of The Score we know what he’d be facing in this book, and seeing the build-up to that reveal was so much fun to read about.
