If your permit has expired or all 12 visits have been used (whichever comes first) you will require a new permit. When the need for a permit is questioned, the decision of Portsmouth City Council is final. We do not use DVLA vehicle classifications to make decisions regarding permit exemption. You must have an appointment to visit the Portsmouth HWRC. If you visit without an appointment, you will be turned away.

If you visit the HWRC more than once in one day, each visit will be counted separately, and your permit marked accordingly. Don’t miss Commercial Road and the Cascades Shopping Centre. Hotels in Portsmouth’s city centre allow you to be close to everything what the city has to offer. From a personal perspective, it has been a joy to relive the club’s magnificent history. The book stands on the shoulders of giants, such as Mike Neasom, who have authored club histories before, but this book’s intention is to give a fresh perspective and add to the body of knowledge, especially around the formation of Pompey.

In the picturesque Old Town you’ll find typical English pubs, coloured houses, and small independent shops. It also has a Fish Market provided by the city’s small fishing fleet. In Old Portsmouth is possible to find smaller hotels, B&B’s and guest houses, some of them not far from the ferry harbour. For relaxing moments, Portsdown Hill allows panoramic views over the city and the Isle of Wight. During summer, its sandy beaches are a must. The work of some key photographers who have chronicled the club’s ups and downs, including Stephen Cribb, Murray Sanders, Steve Reid, Joe Pepler and present club photographer Jason Brown, are also highlighted. In January 2020, this bookstore saw how powerful the online community can be when a Tweet admitting they had no sales that day went viral. The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the need to shop local and support the businesses on our doorstep. No more than two permits (enabling 24 visits) may be issued to a household within a 12-month period. The shop was first opened over a century ago in 1918, but has adapted to continue trading during coronavirus restrictions.In exceptional circumstances where it can be demonstrated that your vehicle has been adapted specifically as a result of your disability, an exemption to the permit scheme will still apply. All other Blue Badge holders will be required to possess a valid permit if they wish to use a commercial-type vehicle.
