Giovanni Cosmetics is America's best-selling natural haircare range. It was created by Arthur Guidotti, the owner of a celebrated Hollywood hair salon, in the 1970's, who had the vision to create a natural hair care range that could easily compete with existing chemical based hair products. I’ve had a lot of issues with conditioners that were too heavy, so it was nice to find one that didn’t weight my hair down. I do make sure not to use a ton of it, and I add protein to my hair afterwards. I want to try smooth as silk next, as I think I could use the extra protein, but I feel comfortable with this brand because I’ve liked this conditioner more than any others I’ve tried on my fine curly hair.

This is my favorite conditioner! I’m able to comb my hair very easily when this product is applied, and when rinsed out my hair is extremely detangled. This conditioner feels very light on your hair and makes it feel very soft.

I wish more type 4 naturals would try Giovanni products. I have tried so many different lines, and Giovanni’s products consistently deliver for my hair. My hair is very tightly coiled and gets matted if left to dry out. This is THE best conditioner for detangling my hair that I have found. It just works. I have minimal shedding and pretty non-existent breakage when I use this to detangle my hair, and that is not the experience that I have had with products that cost 2-4 times the amount this conditioner does. If only more women knew how great this brand is for tightly coiled hair. It may be that it is not marketed towards women of color as strongly, (which is a shame since the products work so well and have safe ingredients). I appreciate that the ingredients are responsibly chosen. I notice that the fragrances don’t linger longer than I want them hanging around, and I haven’t experienced any irritation with them. I could go on. Great product. After searching high and low for a conditioner made without Shea or coconut a family member seeing my frustration lent me some of her Giovanni conditioner and I feel in love. Bought me the big bottle and have been enjoying it!This conditioner is great for hair that tends to be normal to oily. It makes my hair feel clean but not dry. It has a very light to almost no scent which I prefer. This is a great option for fine hair that’s easily weighed down. LOVE this leave-in. It moisturizes my hair without weighing it done. I will definitely be purchasing again.
