This book is full of amazing side characters and I’m SO happy I have the rest of the series to binge. Very well written and I could picture the characters standing right in front of me, they were depicted so incredibly well! But dating a future NHL player isn’t the life I imagined for myself, and as things keep going wrong, I’m starting to wonder if maybe the best-made plans aren’t always the ones you expect. We met when I had puffy eyes and a broken heart, but I didn’t know who he was until he shows up in my city months later as a new member of our local hockey team. Meet Maddox, a popular NHL hockey player who almost ruined his professional career thanks to a one-night stand.

I couldn’t put it down (I think I read it in one or two sittings max) and it was such a sweet surprise. You could see their connection grow as the book went on and I was rooting for them when they took their relationship to the next level! drama was so limited because the confidence in each character as well as the romance were oh so strong.This has became one of my favourite books now and it deserves more recognition (honestly this is so underrated). Octavia Layton, the girl unable to move beyond her broken past, fearful of her childhood betrayal following her through her new adult life. Definitely a insta love (I used to love that ig from reading wattpads but now I love a good slow burn). But they could have spotted a few fleas BEFORE you released the book and helped strengthen your story. I don’t normally read sports romances, this is the first one I’ve read in my entire life, and I think there couldn’t have been a more perfect introduction to the subgenre!
