Description

The NVIDIA RTX A4500 is a GPU that we first covered in 2021 in NVIDIA RTX A4500 20GB GPU. At the time, this GPU was launched with little fanfare, and so we wanted just to take a moment and do a mini-review for the card. This is a mid-range NVIDIA professional GPU that would have been a NVIDIA Quadro in previous generations before that branding was retired. We just wanted to say thank you to PNY for allowing us to borrow this card. NVIDIA makes the GPU itself, but some of the photos are tagged PNY since the company is a primary distribution partner for NVIDIA’s professional GPUs. With that, let us get to the review. NVIDIA RTX A4500 20GB GPU Hardware Production Branch drivers are designed and tested to provide long-term stability and availability, making these drivers ideal for enterprise customers and other users who require application and hardware certification from ISVs and OEMs respectively. The RTX A5000 pulled ahead more in Unreal Engine, especially when real time ray tracing was enabled on the Audi automotive model.

It's still dual to the next roundabout which serves a retail park but then the road narrows and soon becomes residential. There's a complicated signalised junction with an unclassified road from Duston, then we continue east along Weedon Road and meet the two branches of the A428 at consecutive sets of traffic lights. That road now serves the north of the town centre whilst we head for the south. After going over the railway line by the station we bear right onto St Peter's Way, the town centre relief road (the original line of the A45 was ahead onto the now-unclassified Marefair). In our GPU rendering tests, as the role of the CPU is minimal, the comparison should be very precise. Real-time performance There wasn’t a huge performance difference between the RTX A4500 and RTX A5000 in our real-time 3D tests. With our automotive test model in Autodesk VRED Professional, for example, the RTX A5000 was between 1.75% and 3.10% faster than the RTX A4500, depending on the level of anti-aliasing applied. If we head east on Abington Street we soon reach a roundabout with All Nations Church in the middle, which is where the A5123 and A4500 finally separate. We continue east along Wellingborough Road, which is briefly D2 until we reach the A4501 at traffic lights. The road then bends gently round to the left to the suburb of Abington. On reaching the park we are forced to turn left at traffic lights to reach a roundabout where we meet the A5095 and A5101 and turn right, still alongside the park to begin with.

The A4500 follows the original line of the A45 through Northampton. The section east of the town centre gained the number on construction of the A45 Northampton bypass. The western section only became the A4500 when the A45 was rerouted to multiplex with the M1 in the 2000s. On the edge of the RTX A4500 there is a NVLink connector. NVIDIA also includes connectors for its stereo and NVIDIA Quadro Sync II ports for multi-GPU applications. The stereo and sync ports are typically not found on GeForce GPUs. Real-time performanceNvidia RTX GPUs are professional graphics cards designed specifically for workstations. They are standard in most Dell Precision, HP Z, Fujitsu Celsius and Lenovo ThinkStation workstations, and are also offered in workstations from smaller manufacturers such as BOXX, Scan and Workstation Specialists. Different applications support these cores in different ways. Most CAD and BIM applications, for example, simply use the CUDA cores for rasterisation, to turn vector data into pixels (a raster image). With a dual-slot PCIe form factor, the RTX A4500 looks identical to the RTX A5000 and it is much closer in specs than it is to the single-slot RTX A4000. There’s also a difference in software. With special drivers, Nvidia RTX GPUs are certified for a range of professional applications and are tested by independent software vendors (ISVs) and the major workstation manufacturers.
