Description

The 412GW records in high definition 1080p, ensuring clear and crisp footage, even in low light conditions. This eliminates the need for manual operation and ensures that you capture all important moments on the road. Whilst the 522GW’s 60 frames per second video recording gave great videos when played back in real time, the 622GW takes it one step further and offers 120fps, allowing for super slow-motion playback. If so, then the SD card has either failed due to lack of formatting or is not compatible for Dash Cam usage. It uses the G-sensor to detect a bump at which point it will turn on and record a short clip, which will be put in the PROTECTED folder on the microSD card so it can’t be overwritten.

The smaller file size of the low quality video means it is quicker to transfer and edit within the app. If good video quality is really important to you, or you what features such as slow motion playback, then opt for a higher tier device. There is a new GPS system which runs at 10Hz, so it means your position is recorded 10 times per second. The full-resolution versions of clips are downloaded which can be up to 220MB in size, but there’s still no way to trim a clip before downloading the part you need: you have to have a minimum of a one-minute clip.On the other hand, if you’re keen to record extremely high-quality, clear footage - for example, if you live in a busy town and are prone to encountering hazardous situations - then the extra cash isn't too much of a push.

You will need a separate power supply and SD card as it will not connect to your 412GW, but can be used as a Camera facing rearwards. The camera hardware of the 322GW are similar to the 222 with a 1080p resolution, 140 viewing angle and a 2. MyNextbase Player does allow you to edit clips, remove sound, add annotations to each france and even remove the data displayed at the bottom. To benefit from these improvements and updates, please check your Dash Cam's firmware and update it if there's an update available.

The 422GW is noticeably smaller than the 412GW it replaces, being considerably narrower, but there’s still a good-sized screen. Another upgrade you’ll find in the 622GW that wasn’t features in the 522GW is digital image stabilization, this works much like it does on high end DSLR cameras to digitally make videos smoother and iron out the bumps. You can change to 1080p60, but it won’t auto switch to 30fps at night for a brighter image, so isn’t recommended. I think you should always get the best you can when it comes to any camera be it a dashcam or a DSLR photography camera. This enables you to quickly provide evidence to authorities or insurance companies, simplifying the claims process. If you upgrade to a Series 2 Camera, there are 3 different Series 2 Rear Cameras that are all compatible with the 322GW, 422GW, 522GW and 622GW. It also means the GPS speed display (which is now shown in blue, not yellow as on the older models) is much more accurate and updates instantly. Straight out of the box, the Nextbase 412GW comes with a powered, quick release mounting system that can be fitted to the windscreen via a suction cup or an adhesive pad, both included. Obviously, it does have the advantage of higher resolution and higher frame rates – but if you just want to protect yourself against bad drivers the 312GW will do the job perfectly, for less money.

Kieren created the site to share his passion of cars that began long before he passed his driving test and is now a recognised contributor in the industry.Whilst the camera does also offer 60fps, you will need to keep the resolution at 1080p to utilise this. The layout is intuitive for the most part, but there are two menus and both include ‘Dash Cam’ but do different things.
