Description

A longtime good girl and unapologetic bad boy score the love of their life when they least expect to in this swoony, slow-burn sports romance. It is so accurate that dining out becomes a new experience and something that you need to plan for and not simply show up at.

That’s how I’ve felt so often lately, like I’m on the cusp of telling a lot of people a lot of things that are long overdue, but the truth is a knot in my throat that I can’t untangle, the force to tug it free something I can’t yet find inside myself. At the last second, Sebastian pulls back and does some confounding sleight of hand that makes them disappear. Now that I'm experiencing firsthand what a jerk Sebastian can be, I'm wondering if Ren sees in his teammate what he wants to more than what's actually there. There was something powerful about seeing Ziggy take control of her life to obtain exactly what she needed, confident of her worth without forgetting that asking for help is okay sometimes. But I shouldn’t be surprised with Chloe Liese, her books are not only inclusive, she also makes sure that her representation is indeed accurate. And I loved how the focus wasn’t on the previous things they had done and how it was more about their journey as individuals and their friendship growing.

The MMC in this story, Sebastian, is also extremely interesting and I loved getting to know and read about him, even if there are some parts of his backstory that feel odd and superficial. uk/landing-page/orion/orion-company-information/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Orion Publishing Group Limited. I love how both characters are so accepting of the other's differences and not only that, they are so respectful, trying to make things better for the other.

Woven with the utmost gentleness, sensitivity and care - Seb and Ziggy's story is EVERYTHING that you could ever wish for in a book and SO much more. A secret that echoes back thirty years has splintered the family in two, but is also the one thing keeping them connected. now I’m not gonna spoil much in this review i’m just going to comment on how beautiful not only their relationship with each other is but their individual character development is throughout this book. Don't get me wrong, I loved so much of this book, Ziggy is a darling and deserves the world - seeing her growth from book2 where she really started to shine and how she blossoms during this book as she speaks up for herself more was so heartwarming.

The tropes on paper were perfect, good girl x bad boy and ulterior motive relationship but I feel like it wasn’t well developed. He takes me by the shoulder and spins me a quarter turn, until light from inside spills across my face. I loved so much about them, but mostly what I loved is how well they got to know each other, just spending time together and doing things with each other. Itchy seams, fabric bunched where it shouldn't be, send me spiraling if I don't address the issue promptly. You’ve shown me that, because that’s how you love—in showing—and if I get to spend however long I have, experiencing that love, showing you my love too, I’ll be the luckiest woman there is. The ending felt rushed and so, so short after reading chapter after chapter of them painstakingly making their way to one another.

Meanwhile, Sebastian's hockey career is perfect, but his reputation and goodwill with his sponsors is not. I’ve come to realize very few authors are able to make you feel the characters' emotions as if they were your own but, for me, Chloe Liese is one of those. Ziggy is the youngest sibling in the Bergman family and the youngest member of the National soccer team and as such, she finds she is consistently being babied and underestimated.I feel like this is a thing I have noticed with this author’s stories and it’s like once the romance has reached the peak and we are towards the end she starts to rush it. Tall tropical plants cover the terra-cotta tiles and form a small, lush oasis, affording me plenty of privacy for what I need to do. He’s my devious, dark-haired fantasy come to life, but his destructive ways make it easy to keep him in the (fake) friend zone. The topics and themes include celiac disease, autism, anxiety, mental health, family (including challenging family dynamics), character or growing up, change versus tradition, and love and companionship.
