While very loose stools are completely normal for young babies that are exclusively breastfed, if your child is older and is experiencing diarrhoea, then it’s important to keep them away from the water until they feel better. Special absorbent material that doesn't swell or fall apart in water so the swim nappies won't weigh down your little swimmers. Can be used on their own, underneath regular swimwear or over the top of a disposable swim nappy or liner.

Disposable swim nappies are not very effective at preventing faeces from entering the pool, especially looser stools. If your child has had diarrhoea then skip the swimming session until they are completely better.Although disposable swim nappies have leak guards around the legs, these are very limited in preventing faeces from entering the pool. They are formulated to care for older, more fragile skin, meaning that the effects of urine on the skin will be minimised, making the nappy less likely to produce nappy rash. They also have breathable side panels to keep your child cool over night. Absolutely. Splash About Happy Nappy comes in a range of designs suitable for boys and girls, or unisex designs suitable for both. Remove the soiled liner from the Nappy Wrap, if using, and dispose of in the bin (Splash About Nappy Liners are fully biodegradeable). If you don’t use a liner or Nappy Wrap, simply tip the faeces off the swim nappy into the toilet and flush it away.

The MoliCare Super Plus Size Small will fit the bill, but it is a small sized adult nappy so it won't be suitable for younger children. The waist size quoted is 20-36" however, the tapes can be overlapped meaning that it will fit smaller sizes if necessary. Most disposable and reusable swim nappies are suitable for children up to the age of three. There are a number of reasons why children older than this may require swim nappies:Developmental issues and disabilities can often mean that a child is in nappies for longer than we would want. We have had a couple of customers recently that called us out of desperation seeking a bigger nappy for their child. We were able to help and I thought some parents might find this article useful.

Reusable swim nappies are sized by children’s ages – 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months and so on. Your child’s age should be used as a guide for buying a reusable swim nappy but it’s important to also measure your child’s waist and thighs for the best fit. The third obvious difference is the size. The Asda and Pampers nappies are roughly the same size, the MoliCare is both longer and wider, meaning that it will comfortably fit a larger child. A Swim Nappy, whether disposible or reusable, will not hold water. This of course means they won't hold in urine, but they also won't swell and cause discomfort whilst in the water. Many first time users are not aware of this and are alarmed when urine leaks from the nappy on the way to the pool! Swim nappies should only be put on just before you get into the pool and should be changed as soon as possible after a faecal accident. There are currently no waterproof swim nappies on the market. If you are interested in any free samples of the mentioned products, please call us on 01636 30 20 50.

Put your child’s regular swimwear over the reusable swim nappy or just use the nappy on its own. The Splash About Happy Nappy is designed to look like regular swimwear so can be worn on its own. And there was no leaks and she didn't even know she was wet which she certainly did with her old pull ups. The parents we spoke to decided to go with our MoliCare Soft All in One Extra, Size extra small. This is an extra small sized adult nappy. Because it's designed for adults (but in a smaller size) it has many features that aren't usually found in baby nappies. For instance, it has internal leak guards and wide elasticated leg cuffs which will help keep leaks to a minimum. They also have four tapes instead of two, making the fit better and them less likely to come undone. Swim nappies are designed to hold faeces long enough for you and your little one to leave the pool without any leakage. They are not designed to hold faeces for a long period so you should ensure that you leave the pool immediately.

Bigger Nappies For Bedwetting?

At first as you would expect she wasn't happy and put up a few arguments about the things youd expect but eventually after talking to her about it and convincing her nobody would know apart from people that needed to know and a small bit of bribery with a small chocolate bar she eventually agreed to let me put a nappy on her. To clean a soiled reusable swim nappy hand wash in cool water and leave to dry away from direct sunlight. Below is a scale photo of Pampers Size 6+, Asda Little Angels Size 6+ and MoliCare Soft Extra Size Extra Small. The differences you can see are that the Pampers (on the left) has a slightly bigger absorbent pad than the Asda Little Angels (in the middle). The MoliCare on the right has a far larger absorbent pad. It is slightly longer, but much wider. You can also see that the pad is wider at the top and bottom, allowing greater capacity. Disposable swim nappies may not contain loose stools as they are not very robust and can leak around the seams. The Happy Nappy features wide cuffs made from neoprene fabric which creates a tight (but comfortable) seal around the thighs and tummy, which will keep solid and semi-solid faeces at bay.
