As the year continued on, Rose found that she did not have the great experience the supposed drunk had promised her. However, she continued to believe what he said despite not believe the claims of the many other drunken men she had met in her life. As such, she kept waiting for the "great year" to begin for her. Which meant the Doctor was true. Every word of him and her and them. All Clive's fantasies were now becoming facts, right before his eyes. But if the glories were true then so were the terrors. And Clive felt a chill in his heart as he watched the plastic army step down into the street. Piper, Billie (28 September 2013). "Doctor who? The Time Lord's companions since 2005 have their say". The Guardian . Retrieved 23 November 2013. But the appeal has never gone away, the main reason is that it gives the chance for authors to develop their ideas without the constraints of a tv budget. Rose was able to use firearms to effect. ( TV: The Satan Pit, The Stolen Earth) She was a skilled gymnast; Rose mentioned she had "got the bronze" during her school years. ( TV: Rose) She showed such physical strength and talents with martial arts, fighting by her parallel self's side. ( COMIC: Empire of the Wolf)

In promoting the series, both Piper and Eccleston stressed Rose's heroic characteristics whilst Davies highlighted her down-to-earth qualities and quintessential "British-ness". Critical reaction noted that the character was more developed, independent and equal to the Doctor than previous companions had been, whilst the character's overall role in the narrative of the first two series was praised. However, the reaction to the character's 2008 return was more mixed. Piper won numerous awards for her portrayal of Rose—including two National Television Awards—and since her initial role in the series, the character has ranked highly in numerous 'best companion' polls. After leaving as a series regular, Piper experienced success in other high-profile roles as an actress which has been partly attributed to her performances in Doctor Who.

Writer Russell T Davies, Director Alice Troughton, Producer Phil Collinson (14 June 2008). " Midnight". Doctor Who. Series 4. Episode 10. Cardiff. BBC. BBC One. Rose Tyler, along with the Tenth Doctor, had a cameo appearance in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight comic, No Future for You Part One. For the first of their new adventures together, the Doctor took Rose to New New York on New Earth in the year 5,000,000,023, where he had been summoned to a hospital via a message on his psychic paper. Taking a separate lift from the Doctor up through the hospital, Rose was unwillingly showered in disinfectant and diverted down to the basement. There, she discovered Lady Cassandra, who had survived their previous encounter and used a psychograft to implant her consciousness onto Rose's own, gaining full control over her body with the intent of stealing it to live on for centuries. In July 2017, it was revealed that Penguin Random House would publish books featuring the 13th Doctor. [5]

My only complaint would be the simplicity of the writing at times. RTD has written a novel before (the 𝘋𝘰𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘞𝘩𝘰 Virgin New Adventures story 𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘴) so I can't really excuse this simplicity as being a screenwriter not used to writing prose. Instead, I think it aims to be concise and serve as a memory of the episo Internal Homage: The opening shot, of the Earth hanging in space, references the Third Doctor's first story, "Spearhead from Space", which has a number of similarities to this episode: both the first stories after a hiatus; both presenting a dramatic increase in production values as compared to what had come before; both starting with a new Doctor, companion and setting; both being written as jumping-on points for newcomers; both involving the Autons. When she met the Eighth and Eleventh Doctors, Rose Tyler wore a Prussian blue hoodie over a crimson t-shirt. She briefly wore a heliotrope dress when posing as her parallel self to keep her fleets busy. ( COMIC: Empire of the Wolf)These books are not part of the New Series Adventures but are still published by BBC Books and feature the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth Doctors.

The Doctor's Chameleon Arch-induced human persona, John Smith, included Rose in his work, A Journal of Impossible Things, written from the Doctor's dormant memories which surfaced as dreams. Seeing Rose's image in the book, Joan Redfern noted he had "quite an eye for the pretty girls". Smith insisted that "she was just an invention" who "seem[ed] to disappear later on". ( TV: Human Nature) When the Saxon Master was taunting Martha as a "disappointment", he mentioned that the Doctor used to have companions who could "absorb the time vortex". ( TV: Last of the Time Lords) In the online game The Last Dalek, which presents an alternate version of the events of Dalek, Rose does not appear, but she has an entry in the Dalek's memory files. She is described as; "Female subject. Age 19, English. Doctor's trusted assistant. Consider dangerous. However displays a degree of empathy towards all living things, use this to your advantage."Language: English Words: 87,256 Chapters: 26/26 Collections: 1 Comments: 316 Kudos: 427 Bookmarks: 66 Hits: 5,359
