The literature around Eldar is surprisingly thin for a faction as old and integral to the 40k storyline as they are. You can read more about Prince Yriel in Valedor by Guy Haley, which covers Yriel’s attmepts to stop two Tyranid hive fleets from merging into one megafleet and his uneasy alliance with the Drukhari. The follow-up novel, Wraithflight, follows the wraith fighters of Iyanden taking on the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan. I do not remember the exact colors or ratios I used to render my sweet daughter on canvas. Looks like there was some grey, purple, yellow, red, and white. Feel free to attempt to paint my lovely companion animal yourself, and share with us the result.

I used the highlight colour from previous step and painted on the lower edge of some chips and scratches to simulate depth. For myself, I’m looking for a decent tabletop quality paint job. Citadel Contrast Color paints along with a good dry brush (2-3 layers to even out the raised surfaces and add highlight) is all I need. 6. Add accent colors

Those hazard stripes are not entirely straight. They’re freehanded, and you can see if you look closely that they are neither parallel nor evenly spaced. That’s fine, actually, because the miniature has so much visual confusion from the heavy weathering that the lines are broken and your mind barely notices it. The transfers are especially essential to this formulae – they provide such pops of visual interest that they command the eye to focus on them and not the imperfections on the hazard stripes. Not everyone has an airbrush or wants to get one. They are a tool that can’t replace the feeling and control that a regular brush paint job can achieve (see why an airbrush is never going to be as cool or exciting as painting with a regular brush). Reikland Fleshshade wash all over the skin, including the mouth where we’ll just leave that shading as is Fire Dragon Bright, at the very sharpest corner of the inner edges of the eyes, lowest corner of a round lens

The Figurementors Magazine: Fantasy Edition – Ever since we made the jump and created The Illustrated Historical Artist there has been overwhelming support and demand for a magazine of the same quality writing and design, showcasing all that is wonderful in the Fantasy genre. As of October 1st, we will be bringing you a bimonthly issue of The Illustrated Fantasy Artist! We already have content lined up for the first four issues and we are really excited about delivering for you a product unsurpassed within our niche market! We have informative and inspiring articles by Alfonso Giraldes, Joaquin Palacios, Arnau Lazaro, Dmitry Fesechko, Camelson, Francesco Farabi and others written by the up and coming generation of painters such as Kristian Simonsen, Chris Suhre, Paolo Di Poce and so many more besides. This promises to be the magazine that all fantasy figure painters have been crying out for. Stay tuned! Realise your dreams with The Illustrated Fantasy Artist, out soon! Ultimately, I’ve discovered that I prefer using a regular brush more than airbrushing most of the time. Even though painting yellow across large models is still easier with an airbrush (see this 3D printed Imperial Fist Assault Tank paint job), I feel more accomplished when I finish a miniature painting with a regular brush. Looking at all angles of your model, make sure your dry brush covers only the raised surfaces of your miniature. This is the key thing you want to do when you’re looking to add that “extra dimension” to your miniature. 5. Add highlights with dry brushing http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?s=c770bc029dd218be5d17fff14fecefeb&showtopic=17678&st=0&p=266494&#entry266494 This bonded pair of Squigs found their way into my home when I got a box of Zarbaj’s Jitz with my Adepticon swag bag last year. The two have been inseparable since I adopted them, only leaving each other’s side to maul whatever poor fool decided to get too close to their territory. My paintscheme for Zarbaj and his Jitz involves a lot of purple and yellow, so I forewent the typical reds and oranges you see Squigs come in, and went instead for a pinkish purple. I think it’s pretty fashionable.

SRM

To fix uneven open surfaces, I take a regular model paint with a similar yellow color as my base coat paint and prepare to dry brush. In this case, the closest color to the base coat Iyanden Yellow is Citadel Yriel Yellow. Heya i recently bought a "small" cough batch of SM's as i wanted something different to paint than only my tau army. So i choose SM's because i like them and the new special GW model tempted me, and i got the 2016 special SM miniature as a Gift from my GF :D Khorne Red: Khorne Red is a deep, rich red color that can be used to create a split-complementary color scheme with Yriel Yellow. This color can be used to create a sense of movement and energy on the miniature, as well as to break the monotony of the yellow.
