Of the five girls, I really only liked Hannah, and was really hoping that Liam was not the perpetrator. Keri Beevis has a wonderful writing style and you feel so incredibly invested in the story, as well as the characters!

I think we needed to understand Isobel more and if we saw the full event of what happened on that fateful day, a year ago, we may have had a better grasp on why she was the way she was. The writing was well done, the characters were fully developed and the flashbacks were clear so as not to confuse the reader.

Daisy The main character of the story and a very nice girl who is quite new to the school and likes art. Rosie was also traumatized by the monster, and she acts out by having sex, being reckless, and binge drinking. I really struggled to finish this book and have to say that it seemed to be marketed under the wrong genre. but now Eileen is back on their radar and ‘things’ are starting to happen…bad things,again……will Eileen have her revenge. What’s most frightening about a story like this one is the realization that evil such as depicted in the book is all too real.

A year ago, her now 13 year old son, was bullied something awful from school and eventually was beaten up the first day he went to school by himself. As already mentioned I suspected pretty much everyone along the way as the story twisted and turned around and about itself as more of the characters' personalities were exposed. The themes are transferable and depending how it is used they can be brought in to nearly every level of a primary school. And I pray so that as a parent, we'll come to understand the right way to be a parent so that kids feel open to us at anything they wanted.

For a good portion of the book(a little more than 2/3 through the book), I had to wait, for things to be explained, as far as the reason behind what happened to these kids when they were young.

Even as the book was in many ways predictable, I was not expecting the flashbacks to be about graphic child abuse. I did feel like I kind of understood Izzy, but there were a couple times that I was frustrated that she didn't connect the dots on various happenings.
