It will work well in more casual clothing too, but I think it’s sophisticated enough for a smart casual or even formal occasion. It just comes into it’s own on a day filled with springtime rain, obviously making it a good rainy day scent. It’s such a nice and pleasant scent, whether you’re looking to bolster your fragrance wardrobe or have that one scent for this season, it works. Unfortunately, at Gottchalks, all they had was the tester and they didn't seem to want to do anything about selling the testers even when all the cologne except for the tester was gone.

This fragrance leaves a feeling of elegance well suited for night work day but also for special events under one roof. It seems that Selection borrows many nuances from many different fragrance genres of the late 90s and early 2000s and tries to combine them into 1 fragrance and although this isn’t the most striking scent I do say it’s well blended and has accomplished that ! However I could see how someone would like this, it's got that basic "clean, fresh" smell to it, although it's not aquatic or summery. Surprisingly, what I go out of it was warm citrus that doesn't feel cloying or one dimensional, but rather subtle and refined, hence the description which this scent fits perfectly. It opens up with slightly sweet fresh spicy, citrusy, floral and warm spices notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet musky woody.

Very much a citrus fragrance, it also oddly has a hint of lavender - despite not actually containing it!

Which makes this perfect for work or occasions you don’t want to have a loud fragrance but want to smell good !

It kind of reminds me a little of Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir, a scent I used to own that’s now discontinued. I agree with "Collector" and "Slipcat" here - it is classy, the scent is more solid, lasts stable and longer than nearest analogue - Chanel "Allure pour homme" (and not so musky). I say that because I liked the opening then I hated the mid of this fragrance and now it's dried down to a whimpering skin scent it actually smells really good. The only downside is it barely projects at all and at times it's almost like scented water it's so light. Sweetness and spicy touch is ok but not all through the day , it should have some changes , which it lacks.Founded in 1925 by Hugo Boss for clothing launching purpose, Hugo Boss is a German luxury fashion house.

There is definitely a Montblanc individual dryer sheet vibe with a fresh powdery musky note instead of the raspberry.Boss Selection begins with lively and fresh green notes, juicy grapefruit and mandarin, along with spicy pink peppercorn nuance.
