This second book by Vashti Hardy is a hugely inventive, imaginative and adventurous journey into a whole new world where science and technology have expanded and become intertwined with life and death themselves. You technically don’t need to gather from them to complete the quest. However, the crocodile daily (that you do right after this) requires 5 deer meat to use as bait. You could give the children the opportunity to discuss and draw what they think the inside workings are before it's taken apart.
