Let's start with the bad: this book is absurdly expensive (time for a digital edition?), printed in an appalling typeface, and though well-written, would be improved if copy-edited by a technically knowledgeable native speaker of English. It is also a bit self-congratulatory, and some of the teaching models seem to confuse metaphor with physical mechanism: e.g., tree crowns may sometimes be shaped like pebbles, but hardly for the same reasons except at a long stretch.
