Description

O item em si é fantástico, com um belo livro e os vários shows desse álbum fantástico, um dos melhores albuns ao vivo de todos os tempos. The super deluxe edition of Live And Dangerous finally puts to bed the myth that the album was extensively overdubbed in the studio, proving that Thin Lizzy was one of the best live bands of the 1970s. Been loyal Lizzy fan since 1977 when I bought Jailbreak, and saw them many, many times live after that. We get the three Hammersmith Odeon shows, two from The Tower Theatre, Philadelphia in October ’77, one from Seneca College Field House, Toronto that same month, plus Lizzy’s March ’78 show at the Rainbow theatre in London.

Ok there's some banter between front man Phil Lynott and the audience, but who can tire of Lynott's "little more Irish" line; but what banter and audience noise there is is largely kept to a minimum and doesn't detract from the songs or the playing. One thought that really stuck with me throughout this box set was that it documents a great band, at the absolute height of their powers. When we describe the sleeve we are describing the printed paper cover or booklet that is included inside the case. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Concurrently, Lizzy’s attempts to break America touring March 1976’s Jailbreak on the back of US Number 12 hit The Boys Are Back In Town had just come to nought when, sick and yellow-eyed with hepatitis, Lynott had been forced to quit the tour and fly home.Indeed the latter is probably their finest hour, when you consider it featured the brilliant title track, Emerald, Cowboy Song, and The Boys Are Back In Town. The packaging is good quality and the book is a fun read with some new quotes rather than the same tired old interviews. Live And Dangerous still stands as the band’s finest hour; the crystallisation of all that made them so irresistible, so brilliantly volatile.

He has said the album is almost all live, and the sound levels on stage would make overdubbing impossible due to the lack of acoustic separation between instruments. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. A pair of shows recorded in Philadelphia, and a night in Toronto feature the likes of the title track, the funky Dancing In The Moonlight, and set opener Soldier Of Fortune from it. With the 3 Hammersmith nights from 1976, 2 Philadelphia shows from 1977, the Toronto show from 1977 and the Rainbow theatre show from 1978, there’s a lot to listen to.

The album's sleeve notes credit two concerts as its source: Hammersmith Odeon, London, England on 14 November 1976 (part of the tour for Johnny the Fox, released earlier that year), and Seneca College Fieldhouse, Don Mills, Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 28 October 1977 (part of the tour for Bad Reputation). To promote the album, the group filmed a gig at the Rainbow Theatre, London on 29 March 1978 for a television broadcast. Thin Lizzy's 1978 double album, Live and Dangerous , along with Kiss' Alive , the Who's Live at Leeds , and the Rolling Stones' Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out , is one of the greatest live rock albums of all time.Super-sub Gary Moore stepped in admirably while the Scotsman’s hand healed, but the moment had passed. The band had listened to the Hammersmith tapes shortly after recording and agreed that the performances sounded better than the studio versions.

how good this band were, and this extended collection is a must for any Robbo era Lizzy Fan, or any rock fan. Still In Love With You, penned by Lynott about old flame Gail Barber, comes across like his nightly confessional and catharsis, a soulful, all-too-human meditation on regret. It goes to dispel the rumours that the album was extensively overdubbed in the studio and its presented here as the shows were intended with the rawness of a band, they were at the top of their game night after night. However, manager Chris O'Donnell said the album was 75% live, with overdubs restricted to backing vocals and a few guitar solos to "clean the sound up".
