One small critique is it will occasionally jam and the barrel sometimes needs a little help to start it spinning. I bought this for my kid for Christmas but the adult siblings, teen sibling, and us parents all had to try it out. In addition, it does not have spinning barrels like a minimum, it is one barrel with a spinning shell shaped like multiple barrels. This is mainly a concern with offbrand magazines, but even Nerf isn’t immune; my Fortnite AR-L mags are brand new, but have oversized retention slots.

I bought the D4 batteries before Christmas Day so my son was able to enjoy his present as soon as he removed it from the packaging box. I can’t really penalize a blaster for that, but for users with extensive and well used collections, it is something to note. It runs on four “D” alkaline batteries, and has the same digital camo motif as other NStrike blasters (Infinus, Trilogy, etc). The Prometheus, while also underslung, spits out balls at a super high rate of fire and velocity, with enough spin to travel relatively straight for a time.

This colossal blaster is fully motorized for rapid-fire dart-blasting and boasts a huge 50-dart drum to unleash a massive, 50-dart storm. The spinning of the barrel is only for looks, but it does give a fun noise to go with the massive amount of darts it will fling.

I should also note that magazines with oversized or slightly off retention slots don’t sit high enough in the magazine well to contact the belt.It works decently well, provided you use the included drum or a newer magazine (aka one that isn’t old and worn).
