Description

With 3 wounds and a 3+ save, this heavily armored unit of ten soldiers is ready to strike fear in the hearts of your enemies.

If you're looking to build on your existing Warhammer Slaves to Darkness Chaos Army, or looking for a good starting point, this is the box to jump into. The Battletome also covers all lore for all currently released warbands for Warcry, the Warhammer skirmish game, as well as an impressive and fairly-long showcase section of painted models and painting tips. We’ve gone for Host of the Everchosen as our subfaction, this will allow us to bring back slain models on 5+ instead of 6+ with our rally ability. The Warhammer Slaves To Darkness Battletome covers all the information needed to run an elite force of Slaves to Darkness units. That being said, these are all semi-elite models (or actually elite with the Daemon Prince), and they look absolutely amazing.

There are also special command traits for the monstrous Daemon Princes, boosting their wounds, auto-healing nearby allies, and more. Anything that effectively shrinks the table and distance your most important units are required to cover to get into melee is a great help. On the other hand, there’s definitely a decision to be made if said Chaos Hero is one of the more expensive and killy varieties like a Chaos Lord on Karkadrak or Sorcerer Lord on Manticore. This new multi-part plastic kit looks like it has enough options that you can really mix-and-match to build the champion you want. This is partially off-set by Marauders which are cheap chaff to throw bodies at the enemy but you’ll need to not be wasteful with your more heavily armored units. You can choose from multiple different heads (pictured below), each signaling allegiance to a different god (and one generally demonic head for Chaos Unbound). They add 1 to their wound rolls for each wound they themselves suffered in the same phase, can unleash their savagery once per game (adding one to the attacks characteristic until end of round), and you can build in a standard bearer and a musician, who do much the same as the Chaos Chosen. Ally considerations: Blades of Khorne offer several impressive buff vectors, like Bloodstokers and Aspiring Deathbringers, that can make charges easier and our melee units attack more respectively. This is a huge flavor win and it’s great if your hero in question is a cheap Chaos lord on foot where it becomes a straight upgrade.
